Recorded live at Conscious Dance Sedona on October 1, 2022.

The evening took place at Ultimate Light Mission on Saturday night. A newly refurbished venue with beautiful hardwood floors, light projectors, an elixir bar, and a good feel. The same building that used to be 7 Centers Yoga Arts. The very place back in 2007 where I took my first of many Yoga Teacher Training. Which forever changed my life.

It was then in that month-long training that I began my journey of daily yoga practices with a new outlook on life.
It was an honor to share a dance practice and music that I feel is so healing and expansive for all who try it, in a building where I had experiences that help shape who I am today.

I dedicate this mix to my beloved teacher Ruth “Shradha Sagra” Hartung. Who’s teachings of Yoga, Ayurveda, and Astrology inspired me to be who I am today. It was she who gave me my first in-depth foundational teachings to guide me on a lifelong journey. A path I walk today.

This set is made of almost entirely brand new music which came out within days or at most weeks from the event. With some remixed classics and mashups of well-known favorites.

This mix is eclectic. With slow medicine music to start making its way to the first peak of some remixes of well-known American songs with the whole second wave full of bassy bangers leading to the second peak of mashed up oldies but goodies.

Featuring brand new tracks by Temple Step Project, Deya Dova, El Buho Music, ATYYA, Yemanjo, and Barrio lindo.

State Of The Earth

Every artist desires to compose from their soul and resonate their inner world out. Beginning by asking “How humans started creating music?, Where did it all begin? and Why does it have this powerful effect on our lives?”. I have witnessed the effects of music not only on my own life but also on the life of others. How was it that music can unite every race, colour and creed under so unexplainably and effortlessly so? Is it as Earl Vickers states in his paper 'Music and Consciousness',  that "Music has a way of interacting with consciousness", and that it's like a "window into the soul " . Are we as composers finding a way of sharing our purest soul?

Historically, music was mainly used as a way to communicate with the gods or with nature. Used as prayers and blessings, natives sang around fires praying for blessings of peace, protection, rain or sun. Some of the earliest instruments, dating back to more than 40,000 years demonstrate understandings of rhythm, timbre, harmony and melody.  Although we are not certain of what and why these instruments were used for, we can hazard a guess by discoveries like 'the title of the oldest song in existence, historians point to “Hurrian Hymn No. 6,” an ode to the goddess Nikkal that was composed in cuneiform by the ancient Hurrians sometime around the 14th century B.C' . In addition, whilst studying the Baka tribe it was understood that 'Music is the binding force for the Baka, who live in extended groups in the rainforests of Cameroon'. With listening skills based upon the natural world, 'they are said to be the first humans to sing and cure illness', 'argument with song and sing to enchant animals' 

Drawing inspiration from this knowledge I wanted to compose with the intention of taking the listener back to a place of divine soul communication. Not only for the listener but also as a form of communication with the cosmos, an EP dedicated to the 5 elements of nature of which I will discuss two components. Sometimes referred to as the elements of life, I will attempt to establish communication through frequency whilst activating a consciousness connection to these universal laws.
