Originally born Rob Markum, Richmond, VA based artist Octavion X arrived on the seen with his first official mixtape "Definition Of Xcellence" in 2007. 

He finds inspiration in many places and have traveled to New York City, California, Georgia, Colorado which has influenced his creative style and process. He creates music because the feeling of releasing past traumas by telling my side of the story is unmatched.. He specialize in creating music for retired drug dealers striving to be entrepreneurs in the new age of technology. His main focus on delivering the lessons learned from both good and bad choices made through out the years.. He also enjoy working with articulate producers and detail orientated engineers.

He rose to local fame when becoming a member of a rap group called Suburban District and received national media coverage for their first album called "Don't Mind Us We're Just The Future" that released in 2012. After having a successful tour with the group he went on to release his first official album "Vigilante" under Smooth Dirty Productions, LLC.

Octavion has performed along side some of the industries biggest names including artists such as Curren$y, Big Sean, Riff Raff, Action Bronson and many more.

His art style is gritty, in your face and unapologetic.. He am motivated by the thoughts of generational wealth and escaping the system.  When asked about musical influences he proudly states artists like Nas and Mf Doom have contributed to his development. 

He has been featured at RVA Mag, Style Weekly, Ear Milk, The Fader and more. He was even named one of Style Weekly's TOP 40 under 40 back in 2015.
