Here's the recording of an ambient set I had the pleasure to play at Harvest Festival 2022 this fall. The gathering took place in a beautiful pine forest in Ontario and has been happening for over 20 years now.  

I would describe this set as Yin energy, a place where the rhythms are less dominant, which allows the storytelling to be experienced in a more calm environnement. It’s one of the most fulfilling moments that I felt in my music journey this year. 

In the sometimes chaotic and noisy world we live in, it feels somehow very healthy and natural to connect with these frequencies that are rooted, zen, earthy yet cosmic. A sonic safe space in which we can be present and breathe. 

Like my yoga teacher would say:  may the benefit of this session be shared with all beings in the world.

Super grateful for all the amazing artists, musicians and composers who created the songs I got to play in this mix. I also really enjoyed meeting Andrew Interchill during that weekend and discovering his amazing ambient performance on the same night.

Montreal artist @Kora-musique takes the next steps for recently launched New York label Earthly Delights, an imprint centred on spotlighting talents pushing the boundaries of electronic blends. The Canadian producer and DJ picks up the mantle from Yor Kultura, who provided the labels first release in a three tracker titled 'Odyssey'. Kora comes to the label after the well received 'Nuit D'Afrique' and 'Ovo' on Kindisch in November. He treats Earthly Delights to two original cuts in 'Fragile' and 'Vayu'. The pair have already seen much support  from the likes of Acid Pauli, Hernan Cattaneo, Oliver Schories, as well as heavy rotation on the playa. White Ocean founder Timujin supplies the remix action, reworking his own top notch version of 'Fragile'. Today, we're very excited to present to you in full premiere 'Fragile' in its original mix. This is an incredibly emotive cut, which fuses two distant worlds in one exquisite concoction. 'Le Temple de Renca' is an hommage to the Amazon rainforest - an attempt at amplifying the voices of this majestic ecosystem and its citizen.

The Renca Reserve in Brazil is one of the most diverse and untouched jungles in the world. It is now under threats of deforestation by greedy individuals, blinded by the monetary interests of the mining industry. 

« Renca reserve in the eastern Amazon is home to the indigenous Aparai, Wayana and Wajapi tribes as well as vast swaths of untouched forest, covering more than 46,000 square kilometres.

Renca contains important reserves of gold, manganese, iron and copper which until now have been available only to relatively low-level state-owned mining. Illegal miners also operate in the area.»

Nash Donson - Out Of Reach EP [Conceptual Deep]

I’m happy to present you what happened to be a true adventure & a musical highlight for me this year, Journey to Tarab 2019.

The story takes place in two chapters, recorded on the Drachen Nest Saturday night in Zsambek, Hungary.

CHAPTER I

It’s 7:45pm and I’m in the DJ booth of the Drachen Nest, my equipment is connected and I’m ready to play. In the center of the dancefloor, a beautiful tandem are performing live with a super cozy setup & I discover the talented duo Ameli Paul. The stage manager gives me a sign that it’s their last song, and I have my intro tracks and samples selected - I’m ready to go and ecstatic to play. 

As my first track is playing, it only takes a few minutes before the wind blows dark and dense clouds hover above our heads. The rain starts pouring; showers. I look down for only a few seconds to mix in the next song but by the next time I look up, everyone has vanished.

A small group of people with the most vibrant energy came to seek shelter in the booth and it truly cheers me up. I’m so excited to be there and I know that such heavy rain won’t last long, staying optimistic that people will come back.

As the rain calms down, people come back, one by one. Umbrellas, raincoats, mud & smiles. The crowd continues to grow and I get to meet my dance floor one person at a time. The rain has stopped. The Drachen is blowing smoke while the sun disappears & I feel the dance floor is finally in symbiosis. I evolve tempo by a few BPM & as my most energetic track of the set drops…

B L A C K O U T. No sound, no light, it is total darkness on the dance floor, a complete power outage.
