The song chronicles the struggle we all have from time to time conquering the voices in our own heads holding us back from whatever it is we secretly know we should be doing. A song inspired by the events following 7 October 2023 to express my sorrow about the 80 years of tragic injustice and destruction imposed upon the people of Palestine.

I am excited about collaborating with soprano Maribel Villarroel and arranger and pianist René Calderón. The lyrics are from Pablo Neruda's Sonnet IV from the book "100 Love Sonnets" (Cien Sonetos de Amor), translated by Stephen Tapscott. The Fundación Pablo Neruda has granted permission.
