Vi på Timbuktu og Taket er alltid på jakt etter morgendagens djs, og i den anledning ønsker vi å nå ut til nye unge sultne djs til å spille på vår amatørkveld, Open Decks.

Reglene er enkle. Last opp et dj-sett på 30-60 min igjennom soundcloud med tracklist og en kort bio om deg selv. 

Det er desverre ikke lov å ta med egene kontrollere. DJ utstyret på Timbuktu er 2 Pioneer CDJ2000 og Pioneer DJM2000 mikser

Sjanger i forhold til Timbuktus konsept ( Deep house, Tropical, Lounge, o.l. )

Vi plukker ut de beste mixene hver gang, og vedkommende vil få xx minutter til rådighet til å spille sitt sett på Timbuktu på Open decks kveldene med K-Mixx som mentor.

Vi vil også velge ut vinnere som har hatt det beste settet, og har klart å få til best stemning. Vinnere skal få spille back to back med med DJ’ene på Taket på valgte lørdagskvelder.

DJ Michael van der Knoop, a native of Amsterdam, discovered his passion for music at a young age. In 1983, he received his first pair of Technics turntables and a Dateq mixer, marking the beginning of his journey in the world of DJing. Throughout the 80s and early 90s, he became a familiar presence at local parties, renowned venues in Amsterdam, and even ventured overseas.

After a hiatus of 12 years, a close friend persuaded Michael to return to the DJ scene for a momentous occasion - his 40th birthday celebration. Unable to resist the call, Michael embraced the opportunity. However, he recognized the need to adapt to the advancements in DJ technology and familiarize himself with modern equipment. Determined to deliver an unforgettable performance, he dedicated himself to mastering the art of mixing once again. To this day, he remains confident that rekindling his passion was the right decision.
