It's taken us a little while to fully process what happened on Sunday but now we've had the time to recover from the madness that is Fusion Festival (you too, we hope??) we're realising just how much this gig meant to us and how happy we are with how it all went. Thank you to everyone who was there, who waited the extra 40 minutes while we battled with some technical difficulties, who cheered, sang our lyrics (wait, what?!) and danced with us. You were so supportive and after the first couple of songs the nervousness was almost gone and we could just enjoy sharing what we love together with you all. THANK YOU! You peeps are just great. <3

So, without further ado, here's our live set on the Velvet Soup stage at Fusion on Sunday night. Unfortunately the quality of the recording isn't great (where's the bass?!?), and we actually had to re-record a couple of parts at home due to an issue with the accordion microphone picking up the sound coming from the speakers, but we tried our best to play it exactly like we did on the night and blend it in smoothly with the original recording.  We are proud and happy and we hope you like it!

Das war intensiv, in jeglicher Hinsicht. 
Genau wie letztes Jahr ist die Zeit auf der Insel geradezu verflogen. 

Geballte Schönheit der Natur gepaart mit Kunst und Detailliebe. Mehr kann man sich nicht von einem Festival erträumen. Kombiniert mit dem letzten Sommerwochenende, den entsprechenden Temperaturen und tollen Menschen kann das nur zu wenig Schlaf führen ;) 

Wir sind stolz auf die Menschen dahinter. In so kurzer Zeit solch eine Professionalität hervorzubringen, ist wirklich beachtlich. Was da wohl noch kommt ... 

Es war uns ein wahres Privileg, Teil davon sein zu dürfen und wir sind unendlich dankbar für euer Vertrauen in unsere Musik. Danke!
Schon im Vorfeld haben wir uns viele Gedanken gemacht, wie wir diesen Opening Slot am Samstag um 14 Uhr nutzen würden. Dabei hat auch die Wetterprognose eine entscheidende Rolle gespielt ;) Heiße Temperaturen, von Null das Ganze hochfahren, nicht übertreiben, aber gute Energie mitgeben ... So in etwa war unser Anspruch. Insofern senden wir nochmal ein großes Dankeschön an alle Tanzenden, die der Hitze trotzten. Wir haben die Energie und das Set trotz Schlafmangel sehr genossen. Dabei hat natürlich auch diese massive Anlage einen großen Teil beigesteuert. 

Großen Dank auch nochmal an JaMoll für die super angenehme Artist Care.

It was intense in every sense of the word. 
Just like last year, the time on the island just flew by. 

The concentrated beauty of nature paired with art and attention to detail. You couldn't dream of more from a festival. Combined with the last summer weekend, the corresponding temperatures and great people, this can only lead to little sleep ;) 

We are proud of the people behind it. To produce such professionalism in such a short time is truly remarkable. I wonder what's still to come ... 

It was a real privilege for us to be a part of this, and we are infinitely grateful for your trust in our music.

We gave a lot of thought beforehand to how we would use this opening slot on Saturday at 2pm. The weather forecast also played a decisive role in this ;) 
Hot temperatures, starting from zero, not overdoing it, but providing good energy ... That was more or less our aim. In this respect, we would like to send a big thank you to all the dancers who braved the heat. We really enjoyed the energy and the set despite the lack of sleep. Of course, the massive sound system also played a big part in this.  

Big thanks also to JaMoll for the super pleasant artist care.

Było intensywnie pod każdym względem. 
Podobnie jak w zeszłym roku, czas na wyspie po prostu zleciał. 

Skoncentrowane piękno natury połączone ze sztuką i dbałością o szczegóły. Więcej od festiwalu nie można było sobie wymarzyć. W połączeniu z ostatnim letnim weekendem, odpowiednimi temperaturami i wspaniałymi ludźmi, może to prowadzić tylko do małej ilości snu ;) 

Jesteśmy dumni z ludzi, którzy za tym stoją. Stworzenie takiego profesjonalizmu w tak krótkim czasie jest naprawdę niezwykłe. Zastanawiam się, co jeszcze przed nami... 

Bycie częścią tego projektu było dla nas prawdziwym przywilejem i jesteśmy niezmiernie wdzięczni za zaufanie, jakim obdarzyliście naszą muzykę.
Długo zastanawialiśmy się nad tym, jak wykorzystać ten slot w sobotę o drugiej po południu. Prognoza pogody również odegrała w tym decydującą rolę ;) Gorące temperatury, start od zera, bez przesady, ale z dobrą energią... Mniej więcej taki był nasz cel. W związku z tym chcielibyśmy bardzo podziękować wszystkim tancerzom, którzy stawili czoła upałowi. Naprawdę cieszyliśmy się energią i setem pomimo braku snu. Oczywiście ogromną rolę odegrało tu również potężne nagłośnienie.  

Jeszcze raz wielkie podziękowania dla JaMoll za super miłą opiekę nad artystami.

Our birthday may be a week behind us, but we’re not done handing out gifts just yet! 🎁

We’re thrilled to drop our first Traumcast after the summer break, and it’s a live recording by none other than our partner in crime, @mariatheresiavoneberg!

Not only does she co-host our wild Solirave at GartN with @afterhoursounds, but little does many know she’s also a passionate force in our rave scene—promoting new artists, empowering fresh talents, and sprinkling joy wherever she plays. 🔥

And without any doubt you can hear that in her sets. Playing on Sunday evening, this mix drives us between dreamy afterhour vibes and cheeky asswhooping beats. Naughty vocals followed by heavy drops, dark disco beats and funky midtempo grooves turn our living room (or work space) in a casino of strolling cats. 🐈‍⬛

😺 What book are you currently reading, and how is it?

Wilhelm Tell (Schiller) - No, it’s not for pleasure, but the new item on the compulsory reading list I have to teach at school. The plot is confusing, the political/ historical setting of the play hard to understand. Why someone would think that this is a suitable choice for a bunch of teenagers in the 21st century, will remain a mystery to me.


😽 What is your favorite procrastination activity?

When a pile of class tests is waiting for me to be corrected, it’s definitely digging music, creating funny intros for my sets and watching Ableton tutorials. 


😼 If you could live in any fictional world from a book or movie, where would you choose to live and why?

I would be curious to know what it is like to be Tobias, the protagonist of the novel „Als wir nach den Sternen griffen“ by Theresa Herold. The story is set in the embassy of Western Germany in Prague during the summer of 1989. Tobias is a single parent who fled there with his daughter from the former East German regime (GDR), fighting for his family and other refugees to be granted asylum by the West-German BRD. I’m still fascinated with the circumstances of that time because I feel that we can learn a lot about non-violent protest against a totalitarian political system.

✪Wie entstand „Überhaupt & Außerdem“ und woher der Name? 
Wir saßen im Keller unserer alten WG, in dem wir oft aufgenommen und Mixes gemacht haben und sinnierten über mögliche Namen. Neben „Augen zu & Lurch“ war das dann der beste Kandidat :)

✪Wer ist der unvernünftigere von euch?  
Wir werfen immer ne Münze vorher. 
Bei Kopf gewinnt Andi, bei Zahl verliert Philipp :)

✪ Habt ihr Rituals/Traditionen bei Gigs?  
Wir gehen in aller Regel die Setlist nochmal (wo auch immer) durch. Philipp macht akribisch Backups der Sticks.

✪Wie oft seht ihr euch? 
Jedes Mal wenn beide jeder mindestens ein Auge offen hat. Aber da kann man schon auch mal eins zudrücken.

✪Bei wem wird produziert?  
Die Magie wird bei Philipp im Headquarter angerührt.

✪Wer kann besser kochen?  
Andi hat schon rein quantitativ einen Vorsprung, da er es sehr regelmäßig tut. Während er sehr engagiert täglich kocht, kann bei Philipp schon auch mal Street Food im Schlund landen.

✪Worin seid ihr maximal unterschiedlich?  
Andi mag gerne Zahlen, Philipp mag gern Wörters

✪ Was macht ihr noch zusammen außer Mukke? 
Wir heben gern mal gemeinsam repetitiv schwere Gegenstände hoch.

✪Worauf können wir uns dieses Jahr freuen?
Die Edit Schmiede wurde mal wieder angeschmissen. Es gab jüngst eine kleine Session mit dem Herzel Seebo. Serious Ohrwurm ahead!

✪Während der Aufnahme des Podcasts haben wir…. 
Gehäkelt, Steuererklärung gemacht, Boden feucht gewischt, die Bücher im Regal nach Alphabet sortiert, das kleine Latinum und noch bisi Maniküre.

Ein schöneres Erwachen aus dem Winterschlaf hätte ich mir nicht wünschen können! 
Größtes Dankeschön (mal wieder) an Gerda @raeubermaedchen, fürs Vertrauen und die ganze Orga um diese schöne Tradition. Zu dieser Tradition gehört vermutlich auch, dass die CDJs während des Auflegens mal weider den Geist aufgeben. Für den Hörgenuss hab ich daher die Stellen, wo die Musik aus war, rerecorded.
