Blackened Rain ft. Sevens & Aces

Another go at recording this song over at Ralph Warchol's luxurious basement with his quarter inch reel-to-reel 8 channel recorder. I wrote it and sang lead vocal while Ralph sang backing vocal. Sounds like I played my Fender Stratocaster while Ralph played the low end on one of his synths, which also provided the drum track. We still couldn't get that last verse in because we were too impatient to get it right! The original recording was in November of 1983, if Ralph's memory serves.

I made this track a couple of years ago and I remember, at the time, work was slow. I was struggling to have my rent on time. Driving for Uber, selling off music gear and other things I couldn't justify keeping, doing a little side hustle here and there, it seemed like every other thought in my head was about rent. All day long just rent, rent, rent, rent ... so I made a song about it!
