The band comprises brothers Shane and Fiachra Hayes on accordion and fiddle/banjo and accompanied by Aodán Coyne on guitar and vocals. This young trad trio from Country Clare blend Irish traditional melodies with and innovative rhythmic and melodic garnish. These socks are audibly palatable!
 
Having gained a fan-base from four years of gigging around the west of Ireland, this exciting group have recently started branching out and have been well received for their modern traditional style and energetic approach to music. This, combined with an acoustic musical interplay, three-part harmony and an obvious love for live performance, compliments the traditional essence of both tune and songs in a fresh and entertaining way.
 
The CD itself offers a dozen lovingly worked tracks which the lads are eager to showcase both on this album and at their musically charged gigs.

Cúig, formed in 2013, have established themselves among the most promising artists on the Irish traditional music scene.  They incorporate Breton, Galician and American bluegrass tunes into their music that is already steeped in the Irish tradition, entertaining audiences throughout Ireland and further a field with their exciting and innovative sound.
Cúig have taken the traditional music scene by storm performing on various national television and radio outlets.  In particular, Cúig’s performances on BBC Radio Ulster’s Blas and Folk Club, and BBC Radio 3’s In Tune prove that this band displays skills and talents which defy their years.  In August 2013, Cúig performed on TG4’s Fleadh Live which was broadcast worldwide to an audience of 1.2 million.  Since their formation Cúig have taken the stage alongside some of the biggest names in Irish music such as Flook, Beoga, the Maritin O’Connor Trio, Goitse and We Banjo 3.
Cúig have taken their music outside the boundaries of the traditional music scene in Ireland.  In July 2013, they played alongside international headline act, Flook at the Les CeltiCimes Festival in the French Alps to great acclaim.  In August 2014 they travelled to the Balver Höhle Irish Folk Festival, Germany where their performance made regional headlines.  
Cúig will launch their eponymous debut EP on Saturday 7 February.

Alan Mayers is a musical instrument maker based in Northern Ireland.  He has been involved in instrument making since 1999 and now makes a few instruments a year in his spare time.

Contemporary Irish Trad Group

Athrú are a new, vibrant, award winning, contemporary Irish Trad group that draw upon influences from Belfast and beyond to deliver music that is a combination of powerful accompaniment fused with modern tunes and delicate harmonies that is dynamic, energetic and fresh. The band originated through sessions in Belfast in early 2014, and despite their short time together have won Derry's "An Re Nua 2014" Competition, and have began recording their début EP album to be released next year. Through several competitions and festival appearances such as “Fleadh Cheoil Na hÉireann”, "Pan Celtic Festival", "Club Sásta", and supporting the likes of Trad super-groups: MOXIE, KAN, Goitse, Buille and the Máirtín O'Connor Trio; they have begun to build a strong following with their great sets and infectious onstage character.

 The band includes Belfast musicians Niall McIlroy (whistles/flutes/guitars), Cormac Crummey (guitars/fiddle/banjo), Brendan Loughran (concertina). Kevin Meehan from Dublin (bodhran/percussion/whistles) and Conor Broderick from Galway (piano/rhodes).

Sásta (roughly translating to ‘Happy’ in Gaelic) are the most dynamic Irish band in Australia today, making a huge impact on the Irish music scene in Australia in recent times. The band is made up of multi-instrumentalists who have performed at the highest national level. Pumping reels with phenomenal energy, and of course all of your favourite Irish songs, as well as some superbly penned original tunes & songs that will have you up and dancing in no time! 
Sásta have released their debut CD , toured interstate within Australia as well as playing gigs in New Zealand & touring New Caledonia . They also have supported international acts such as Sharon Shannon,Aslan, Damien Dempsey, also Shane McGowan’s band ‘The Popes’ (formerly The Pogues) . Sásta perform at many festivals around Australia including the National Folk Festival in Canberra (Australia) & Woodford Folk Festival (Queensland,Australia).
