Michael Cassette hails from Finland and draws his musical inspiration from the memory of his late brother, David. And this essential two tracker announces him as a major new house music talent. On the A-side, 'Zeppelin' hails from the 'Discopolis' school of thinking, combining influences from the late 70's and 80's with today's production values. 

The result is a melodic house beauty that just keeps on building and building. On the flip, 'David' is a direct tribute to Cassette's late brother, a chunky, 80's-infused electro houser with poignant vo-coded vocals. An awesome debut.

Michael Cassette - 'Zeppelin'

A tune of sublime beauty, Shadow’s Movement features a swirling, hypnotic melody and french flavoured bassline, that combine to deliver a stunning dancefloor moment.

 On the flip, Fox And A Shooting Star is a peak-timer reminiscent of the sounds pioneered by the likes of Eric Prydz and Paulo Mojo, and is also destined for a long stint in the record bags of the industries finest.

Michael Cassette - 'Fox And A Shooting Star'

Winter / Cyan's Child" is the hot new two tracker from Michael Cassette, aka Matti Heininen and Erkka Lempiäinen. Over the last 12 months these two Finns have established themselves as the masters of 80's inspired melodic house music, first with Shadow's Movement, one of the highlights of SOS' excellent Balance compilation, and more recently with their remix of Paul Keeley's "A Sort Of Homecoming", which stormed the Beatport charts and picked up BBC Radio One airplay on James Zabiela's Glastonbury Essential Mix. 

Winter is a real feelgood gem, with 80's synths and riffs riding bareback across a magical, goose-bump inducing groove. Cyan Child is a more intense affair and sounds like a natural follow up to last year's debut single "Zeppelin", picking up a huge reaction when road-tested at the pair's recent performance at Ministry of Sound.

With this new single and another EP lined up on on Anjunadeep under their Komytea guise, not to mention a monster bootleg in the works, it looks set to be a big year for Michael Cassette…

Matti Heininen and Erkka Lempiäinen have delivered plenty of magical Michael Cassette moments ever since they exploded onto the scene with the wonderful ‘Zeppelin’ and ‘David’ and this latest themed step on their musical journey is the perfect companion to the summer months.
‘Magenta Sunset’ represents an exciting change of tack and shift of focus for the boys; lifting out some of the distinctive 80s house hooks and delving deep into progressive terrains but keeping to the essential spirit of joyous vibes you can almost picture the kaleidoscopic streaks of colour in the sky as the sun hides away for the night as the track breezes along and unwinds gently on a cocktail of soft, transcendent melodies and blissful ambiances.
‘Wateresque’ sees the Cassette sound sailing purposefully further into unchartered waters, with its downtuned bass, metallic synths, percussive snaps and tumbling keys creating an edgier, moodier piece interspersed with a lingering, slow-burning melody as beautiful as any the duo have crafted previously, making this package an unmissable addition to the Anjunadeep collection.

aken from their forthcoming debut album due early 2010 Michael Cassette are back in town and given their recent good form in the studio it’s inevitable that ‘Kilimanjaro’ turns out to be another instant hit. Catchy grooves and sweet twinkling melodies characterise the Original Mix as Matti and Erkka generously sprinkle their 80s-influenced magic dust over the top for good measure. An instant hit, and arguably their finest work since shadow's movement. 
The Solarity boys really are on a hot streak at the moment and as such they’re deservedly passed the baton for remix duties. After the bomb blast of ‘Terminal 6’, back come the distorted basslines on this minimal rework.
