lavender today release new single lowlight:slowlight, out now on Night Time Stories. The new single follows their debut EP, all will be well, which was released via Foundation FM Records. 

lavender are Oskar Rice and Adam Jackson; friends since school, one a DJ/producer, one in an indie band, their burgeoning friendship saw them bonding over Elliot Smith as much as J Dilla. Their debut EP garnered praise and appreciation, with lead single 'peppermint’ currently on 22 million Spotify streams. Worldwide FM and NTS were hugely supportive, as were BBC 6Music stalwart Cerys Matthews and Jack Saunders and Nels Hylton at BBC Radio 1. 

The writing of lowlight:slowlight was driven by a desire to experiment more with sampling, deconstructing Adam’s demo and treating it like another piece of the audio jigsaw. “I sent Oskar this layered recording and he flipped what I’d made into this beat,” says Adam. “I remember listening to it on the way to the studio and thinking this is crazy, when we finished it. There was a moment where we felt like we’d just unlocked this feeling and it was like that song just fell out the sky. We were both hyped because it was the best thing we’d ever made and the new benchmark of what this music could be.”
