Novo Amor and Ed Tullett first crossed paths in November 2013, at the Newport date of Ed’s UK tour. After showing an immediate appreciation for each other’s work, Ed, based in Brighton, spent December at Novo Amor (Ali Lacey)’s Cardiff home-studio, writing a record’s worth of material.

Recorded in March and self-produced by the pair in Cardiff, ‘Faux’ is the first realization of their collaborative talent, a swirling combination of their stunning falsettos, giant acoustic swells, and cryptic lyrics. The single, to be released via Norway-based label Brilliance Records, and Dumont Dumont, home to RY X, is an addictive alternative-folk behemoth.

Ed Tullett is currently putting final touches to his new record, ‘Fiancé’, a dark, electronic departure to his early acoustic work, after having remixes of Bon Iver (released on Spotify on the Bon Iver Stems Project album) and Local Natives shared by the bands themselves. 

Novo Amor’s ‘Woodgate, NY’ EP was released in March via Brilliance to rave reviews (6/6 – GAFFA, 8/10 – The 405), after premiering on The Line Of Best Fit. 

Their collaboration is the start of something bigger, as they prepare to write further and look to crafting a full record later in the year.

Brilliance Records is a small indie label out of Bergen, Norway. The label’s focus is to discover and present new brilliant music.

Dumont Dumont is a label based in Stockholm, Sweden. Australian artist RY X was the first artist to be released on the label.

Faux, by Novo Amor & Ed Tullett, was released via Brilliance / Dumont Dumont.

‘Quadrivium’ is the US producer Phelian's second studio-length album. Named after the four classical arts of arithmetic, geometry, music and cosmology; the album is a reflection of Phelian’s education and philosophical life-path. The eleven-track body of work is an exploration of introspection, each track inspired by projections of the producer’s aspirations for the future- love, inspiration, mindfulness- spiritual union. The album is a mature body of work, an emotive electronic journey that is more down tempo than the artist’s earlier works yet staying true to his music origins of cinematic soundscapes.

Following on from the massive success MaWayy’s debut single ‘Wrong’ which reached over 1.5 million YouTube views and 1.1 million Spotify streams, climbing to number 42 on the Billboard Dance Club Songs Chart, the electronic pair’s latest track ‘Blame’ is now taken for a spin by German deep house duo LIZOT and New Orleans producer Phelian in a huge delivery of massive remixes. With MaWayy’s sound described by Huffington Post as ‘sizzling electropop’, the remixes are sure to achieve high acclaim in their contrasting and captivating reworkings. 

There is something satisfyingly minimal about Phelian’s take on the track, which offers a completely fresh spin on the pop-esque, downtempo of the original.
