Velvet Echoes [Minimal Groove Concept]

The idea behind my offering was to compose somewhat of a diary, citing where I've been and where I find myself today. I transition from several of my earliest discoveries, to records that I find myself playing out at the present time. Although my aim was to create something functional, I made sure to include segments by specific artists who influence my songwriting — groups like Autechre and Godspeed You! Black Emperor.

For Torture the Artist's latest art:cast the DJ and producer came up with a divine selection that takes his audience through the many facets of House Music without losing his general vibe. One can tell that Laolu's DNA is music - probably due to the fact that the artist spent his early childhood days in Nigeria, where his parents ran a club called ‘The Gallery’, which was dedicated to Soul and Jazz music, and kindled Laolu‘s passion for music that is now omnipresent in his tracks, DJ-sets and mixes.
