Just Duet is an offbeat musical and comedic duo, often—but not always—comprised of clarinet and percussion. Blending contemporary music with elements of theater, sketch comedy, and storytelling, we use our audience and space to create an experience that is never the same twice.

The unholy spawn of a night at a Fargo beer hall, Just Duet is the brainchild of Cynthia Goosby and Scott Charvet. The two met as music graduate students at North Dakota State University, and within a month of forming in early October, 2014, they began performing publicly and privately in a variety of venues, including concert halls, bars, libraries, churches, living rooms, schools, and even a cave! After spending two years in Bowling Green, OH, to finish their M.M. degrees, the duo moved to Austin, TX, in 2017!

A Roman Catholic priest from the Diocese of Steubenville

Daniel Harrison (b.1987) is a frequently commissioned and performed composer of chamber, orchestral, choral, and electronic music whose music has been heard across the United States. His music has been praised for its "vivid use of instrumental color", and "poetic expressiveness". He has been performed by numerous outstanding performers and ensembles such as members of Fifth House Ensemble, Iktus Percussion Ensemble, Three by Radio, All of the Above, the CCM Chorale, and Hypercube. In 2015, he was a finalist for ASCAP Morton Gould Young Composer Award, and he was commissioned to compose a new work for chorus and electronics for a recording project for the CCM chorale. He was recently named the Ohio Music Teachers Association's commissioned composer for 2016 and will have a new work premiered at Kent State University in December of 2016. Current commissions include a new work for reed quintet and piano for Noise-to-Signal, as well as a new string quartet that will be premiered by the Del Sol string quartet that the 2017 Red Note New Music Festival at Illinois State University. He holds degrees from the University of Cincinnati College Conservatory of Music and the University of South Florida.

Samn Johnson (b. 1991) is a composer and electronic musician based in Kalamazoo, Michigan. His work juxtaposes music of different times and traditions as a vehicle to explore themes of mysticism and deep time. Samn has studied composition at The Interlochen Arts Academy and the University of Michigan and is pursuing a masters in composition at NYU, where he studies with Julia Wolfe. His current projects include an album of electro-acoustic vocal and instrumental pieces and a multimedia adaptation of Boethius’s Consolation of Philosophy.

  Monte Weber is a New York based sound artist and composer who graduated from NYU Steinhardt under the guidance of Morton Subotnick. Weber’s music conjures delicate and vibrant sonic ecosystems and often involves the use of visual art, video projections and interactive computer technologies.
His work relies on new approaches to performance practices in an attempt at discovering new modes of sound production. Currently Weber is workng with wearable technology: developing a motion based system for sound design as well as performing on his newly created physical electronic instrument "Kontrol".
