Anisa are a Jazz Quartet, based in Manchester, who have been performing both Nationally and Internationally for 3 years. Anisa Jazz Quartet recently held the position of "Resident Ensemble" at the European Jazz Academy in Heek, Germany, performing and giving workshops to Jazz musicians from across Europe and of all ages. 

The quartet brings together 4 highly skilled young musicians, all of which were trained at the Royal Northern College of Music. During their time there, the quartet quickly built a large repertoire of both jazz standard covers and original material (with all four members contributing respectively), gave engaging performances at local venues (including the RNCM's Studio  Theatre) and recorded a 5 track EP of original tunes. 

Their rare musicianship attracted the attention and admiration of many of the college's professors in Jazz including Mike Hall (Head of Jazz Studies), Steve Berry (Bassist, Loose Tubes), Rob Buckland (Head of Saxophone Studies) and also visiting professors Julian Argüelles, Steve Waterman and former BBC Big Band Director Jiggs Whigham who, last year, invited the Quartet to hold the "Resident Ensemble" post at the European Jazz Academy 2012 where they played and taught alongside some of the best and biggest names in European Jazz including Phil Robson, Ack Van Rooyen, Florian Weber, Tom Gordon, Jiggs Whigham and Judy Niemack.
