STACCATO-CORE: A style of music composition and production which religiously uses the staccato technique (notes sound sharply detached & separated from one another, often likened to a sudden *stabbing* sensation). In its purest form, also features brief silences, high tempos, and the sparing use or even complete absence of reverb.
The contrast created by the onslaught of huge sounds rapidly hitting you in the face, vanishing without a trace, and returning with abrasive force repeatedly is the essence of STACCATO-CORE.

DIGITAL FUSION (digifu): "Music that combines various musical genres with early PC/computer music styles that were shaped by hardware limitations, such as video game music, demoscene/tracker music, chiptune, and MIDI. Digital fusion is an evolution of these computer music styles, where composers have adopted their vernacular without their original hardware limitations" Aivi and Surasshu @ digifumusic.com.

I made this for the Maj7 Discord server Cover Ring event of autumn 2021 (it's basically like a secret santa, but instead of buying/receiving gifts, musicians make covers of each other's tracks & have no idea who is making who's until all is revealed in a climactic listen party stream!). Thanks to Jneen Collective and Hypergamestorytime for putting together such an incredibly fun and life-affirming event!!

Composed in FL Studio 10.

I started writing this song over a year ago.  I had almost finished it and it was turning into one of my favorite pieces I've ever composed when a file corruption cost me about 10 hours of work on it.  I was heartbroken and discouraged, and tried sporadically over the next many months to replace what had been lost and finish the track. I only recently REALLY cracked at it after hearing about the Vol. 7 submission and finally finished it up the night before the deadline.
