Mix 005: Deepness

BEATBASS is a special DJ mix where I step away from house and dive deep into the late ’70s and early ’80s, a golden era when beats, bass, and synths collided. This was the moment when electronic and acoustic instruments were blending in new ways, creating sounds that felt futuristic and timeless all at once.

For this mix, I pulled together records that capture that energy, some classics you’ll recognize, some that were sampled in ’90s house music and a few hidden gems that deserve to keep shining. I even made my own edits of the best moments to really bring out the groove.

A DJ Mix of Older House Records That I Have Always Loved

Surely one of the best DJs in the game of House Music, Gene has not only presented killer mix after killer mix showcasting the immense depth of his collection, he also is a very good producer himself - constantly raising the bar on his very own "Limousine Dream" imprint. 

For 5918mins., Gene slows things down a couple of BPM and leads us through the downtempo side of things, with the same combination of thorough- and playfulness that has become a hallmark of his mixes. We're very happy to have him onboard and will patiently wait in line for track IDs. Enjoy!
