Excellent work and I love the concept, which you have done an excellent job of executing.

Another track that floated unfinished in the digital recorder (and my) memory for a few years, changed several times (only the piano and bass parts remained the same). At first I wanted to do something similar to the opening themes of 1960s TV football programmes; then, by adding and subtracting parts and instruments, it reminded me of Viennese Kaffeehäuser from the early 1900s. Perhaps because of the many overlapping strings: here seem to be many people talking, some even alone. Since this impression does not displease me, I decided to end the long agony of the piece.

It's the month for some dark music! 🎃
The lyrics to this song is a poem that my friend, Keith Dorman had published in 1993 called Commission. When I first read it I thought wow, this is dark! And it stuck with me ever since.
Keith kindly gave me permission to use the poem for a track. 
I blended a pitch shift in with my vocals whilst I recited the poem as I didn't want it to sound like myself as I wanted it to sound more horror movie vibe! 
Anyway, hope you all enjoy a rare vocal performance from myself.

This is a dark one - so a disclaimer for my listeners - one of my inspirations for this was from the thought experiment "Imagine one hand clapping" that we use in yoga or meditation practice, mixed with the idea of "Unstruck" - The word associated with the heart. The Unstruck Sound. - A beautiful way of thinking of it. 
So mixing these ideas - makes it fairly straightforward to produce a love song featuring (what I hope is ) a fairly accurate portrayal of what love can sometimes feel like - in all its complexity.

I am an university professor of history who enjoys playing (guitar and piano/keyboard) and composing: unpretentious, just for fun. As a consequence, the most of my recordings (made with KorgD8 / Audacity and also Reaper now) are handcrafted and largely imperfect. But nobody expects (nor has ever expected) me to produce music with absolute professionalism. Neither do I, although I would like to.
Thank you in any case for stopping here to listen to something; in the description area you can find often explanatory notes or lyrics translations.

Here I found a community of great musicians and songwriters and a lot of beautiful music to listen to; you can be sure that any liking, commenting or reposting by me is a consequence of careful listening to the tracks. Obviously, for this very reason, I am not interested in collecting free ‘likes’ without real listening.
