Jay Blahnik is a Philadelphia-based recording artist, songwriter, producer, choreographer, actor, writer/stage director, model and humanitarian. Born in Washington DC, he moved to Camden, NJ (a city most noted for it’s alarming crime and poverty rates) at age five where he witnessed homicides and other violent behaviors take place on the playground daily. To cope, Blahnik used his creative talents as therapeutic outlets to escape the dangers of his neighborhood.  Each talent was masterfully honed through focused study and participation in school glee clubs/choirs, dance groups and debate teams. Collectively, these affiliations provided him with the confidence, skill and experience necessary to create and perform at levels unmatched by his peers. Inspired by Janet Jackson, Stevie Wonder and LL Cool J, he began to write lyrics of hope, stories of a better life and sounds that made his entire community dance. By age 15, Blahnik had written and produced an album.
Blahnik has three studio albums to his credit.  Many have characterized his sound as an action film that is complete with a storyline, plot and climax. The recent releases of “Boom Box,” “ME,” and “American Thumpdalina,” have landed at #1 on ReverbNation's US House Music and Electronic Dance Music (EDM) Charts; as well as #1 Globally for House (12/13-Present).  On the NumberOneMusic’s Charts, Blahnik held 31 TOP 20 slots in a single week (ending 8/1/2014), including #1 Pop and #1 Dance for both the US and the entire WORLD (in ALL countries); while the first two singles reaching #14 on the Independent Music Network Charts and #15 on the Indie Charts. Blahnik further charted on the UK’s Top 40 and Dance Charts with a remix of “Boom Box” that was produced by Xeraph, US Twitter Real-Time Charts and on the Euro Progressive House and R&B/Rap Charts; thus earning him two 2015 Artist in Music Award Nominations for Best Electronica/Dance Artist and Best Music Video (Directed by Jay Blahnik). 

Because his artistic career intersects at music, theatre and dance, Blahnik's live performances are epic Broadway-styled extravaganzas. His intricate and larger-than-life street styled choreography has earned him a reputation among noted celebrity talents such as Ashanti, Brice Vick, Karl Jackson, Vivica Fox and Jade Starling as a trailblazer. His sci-fi music videos were added to World News and MTVs websites and shown in heavy rotation during NYC’s Fashion Week.  While on his current US promotional tour in support of his “Boom Box” LP, Blahnik is also working on new music, film and stage productions with a host of producers, directors and artist worldwide. After his introduction to the music industry by DJ Seven, formally known as DJ Taj of Bamabounce, Sugur Shane has become one of North America’s most prized musicians. Based in Philadelphia and influenced by the sounds of Nirvana, Gillette & 20 Fingers, Peter Rauhofer, Junior Vasquez, Notorious B.I.G. and Mobb Deep, he has been causing mammoth noises throughout the dance music scene and it is clear to see why. With a release catalogue that includes hits like ‘Move To The Light’ and Main Course ‘Kill Da Bitch EP’, it’s no wonder his hip-hop infused house productions have led to mammoth accomplishments that many aspiring artists can only dream of achieving.

2016 proved to be a major year of accomplishment for Sugur Shane.  Along with touring and producing, Sugur founded his very own imprint called Sugur Shack Records, which aims to fill the empty spaces in the scene that he has found, as well as giving upcoming artists a platform to showcases their talents. Released in December 2016, ‘Philabrity’, the first release from Sugur Shack Records, features an original track and remixes by Chad Jack (NY), Bonnis Maxx (Brazil), Vjuan Allure (DC) and Enrico Meloni (Italy). With his new label and release, Sugur Shane has received continual international support by the likes of Tom Stephan, Danny Verde, Ana Paula, Hanna Rad, and Eddie Martinez. Sugur Shane’s phenomenal single, ‘Kill Da Bitch’, was also re-released on a Main Course compilation CD through Japanese label Sushi Records. 

As 2017 begins, Sugur Shane has been featured on various podcasts including the infamous Matinee World Radio Show and DJ Mixes live at Red Bull Studios. The artist has also relaunched an online merchandise store entitled Sugur Land that features clothing and other merchandise. In April, a collaborative release with Seattle’s AiNSLEE called ‘SLAY’ will be Sugur Shack Record’s second release. Make sure you have your seatbelts tightened as Sugur Shane is in the fast lane to the top of the dance music ladder.
