Trio of djs / producers aka Purple Gorillas. The Gorilla's have been Djing together for 7 years now and  are a trio of DJ's whom are Jonny G, Kev_Mac and Alex Zafiris. Music has always been a love and passion in life. Starting out as just DJ's hosting their own parties, free raves and residencies they grew more like brothers and blood not just partners, this is how then how they began to start producing together having the same knowledge, same vision and same beats rocking through each others heads. Once the production took off it mainly free bootlegs that were there key, until the launch of Purple Gorilla Records came about. After this launch the hype and recognition for the Gorilla's on the underground is growing all the time. With 1/3rd of the Gorillas holding a residency at Itaca, Ibiza and also launching a night cDeep over there, and also regular gigs in London and Leeds they are covering all corners of the europe covered! 

So then moves onto the launch of Purple Gorilla Records, the mindset within the Gorilla is that only fresh, innovative, and top quality music is released. Currently on the roster of PG Records is French producers Davka, The Pilotwings and  The Cheshire Cat, whilst UK producers Conti, Alex Zafiris (PG), Jonny Green (PG), Danny Julian, heavyweights Clouded Judgement and of course Purple Gorilla themselves.

Dan has always had a passion for music.  Having experienced some of the best house and breaks parties in the UK to watch his favourite DJ’s Sasha, Pete Tong and Dave Seaman on the decks, the eclectic vibe they created inspired him to pursue his dream.  After practising on his father’s turntables he got his own decks and taught himself to mix.  Using his natural creative flair he developed his own unique style and went on to attain the highest accolade of a Distinction in Professional DJ Diploma from Point Blank Studios.  In the coldest days of the darkest nights a star was born.

Dan has extensive knowledge of the music scene after establishing himself as a talented promoter.  He ran Mishap at Revolution Bar, Sheffield, and held a weekly residency there.  Dan took Stereo Zoo, the Über cool underground party where only the best in the industry graced Decks ‘n’ Fx to London’s No.1 underground venue ‘Inigo’ in Clapham where the likes of the mighty Mr C to breaks masters Freestylers, Hybrid and Birmingham’s brightest new talent Micky Slim delivered spectacular sets.  Dan also promoted Tech-Noir in Sheffield and after gaining much respect from Mixmag frontman James Mowbray held a Mixmag party with James and Curfew Record boys King Unique for his debut party.  

With his innovative mixing skills and unrivalled talent Dan has rocked dance floors all over the globe.  From prestigious venues in the UK such as Revolution Bar, Takapuna, Forum and Hustle where he held residencies, to Bed alongside Mikko & Corey, DQ with Tim Sheridan and Michael Woods, Fierce Angel alongside Mark Doyle and Hatty Lovehearts, Defected in the House, Gatecrasher, Honey Club, Sin, Edwards, Label and Mezz to across the globe at Space Ibiza, Itaca Bar, Es Paradis, the infamous Pukka Up boat parties and Soho Club, Liechtenstein.

Dan is also renowned as the original creator, producer and presenter of the monthly Pukka Up Podcast which he has made extremely popular with his exclusive interviews with A-List producers on today’s house scene and has sourced and interviewed some top names including Yousef, D. Ramirez, Riva Starr plus many more!  With the low down on future events, in the mix with the 5 best tracks currently tearing up dance floors all over the globe in his trademark ‘the 5 big hitters’ and ‘back to better days’ selection, Dan has gained a vast following of listeners.

Dan has naturally progressed into production with Paul Wiltshire aka MuSol and is one half of the duo ‘Pearl & Dean’ who have produced remixes for Canadian producer Christian Alvarez on his label ‘Delecto’.  Both releases reached the ‘Top 10’ house chart on Traxsource and received massive support from Grant Nelson, David Dunne and Soul Magic to name but a few.  The first release was Christian Alvarez – ‘Dance with Me’ (A tribute to Michael Jackson) [Pearl & Dean Moonwalkin’ Dub].  Christian Alvarez ‘Be My Woman’ [Pearl & Dean Sax Dub] was the second release in which Snake Davis, the legendary sax player for ‘M People’, was drafted in to play live sax parts for the remix.  Following this success Pearl & Dean are gaining more interest from big producers to remix their tracks.  The future is certainly looking promising. 

Dan is passionate about his DJing which is clearly evident to those who have seen him play.  He has established himself as one of the most original DJ’s Sheffield has exposed in recent times.  With his unique style and innate technical ability he has rocked dance floors across the globe and is ingenious at pleasing the crowd.  His sound may be difficult to pin down but his broad innovative approach to mixing is making waves far and wide.  His style is energetic, whether it be progressive or tech, tailoring each set to the clubbers in front of him, with an approach to music that never fails to create a euphoric atmosphere!

His enthusiasm for DJing and his passion for music coupled with a real drive and energy has earnt him a lot of respect on the music scene.  From his promoting days and residencies to presenting and producing the Pukka Up Podcast to DJing in top venues and progressing into production as one half of the duo Pearl & Dean, Dan has gone from strength to strength and is reaching new heights.

A breath of fresh air....and talent which excels beyond multi-dimensional diversity......Dan Feeney certainly is a force to be reckoned with!
