Pretty insane live set for a private party. Just flowing with the energy of a sweet little group of happy people. 

When Covid came down last year I wondered if dance music would be forced to reemerge in something more akin to its original form.. the underground.  Back in the '90's most parties were renegade parties and they just kept getting bigger and bigger and drawing more and more attention. 

It's such a revelation to feel that underground vibe again some 25 years later. Music is the answer to your problems.

Oh boy, here we go. I've got a few classic, all vinyl mixes mixes I'm gonna post up. This one from 2003 or so. 

My roots in techno are deep. I used to play raves, warehouses, clubs and underground house parties, and was always the guy that rocked hard, trucking techno. Killed it. 

This mix was recorded especially for my soulmate, who was at the time pregnant with our first ragamuffin. 

Suuuuuuuper dope set! Hope you enjoy it.

Classic Micro.D on Vinyl - Pregnant Lady - Circa 2003

Okay, here's another classic drop, recorded at Blue Box studios in Austin, TX, on Memorial Day 2002. 

All vinyl, smoking techno and rave trance from waaaaay back in the day. Recorded on 1200's and a Vestax Pcv-275. Old school tools. 

I think this one is coming at around 144 bpm, which was standard fare for all the heads back in the day. These days I find myself jamming in the 123-128 range.

This is one of my favorite mixes of all time. Straight trance classics from the mid and late '90's, including Send Days and One Week, by BBE. Such dope music from back then, and it's aged well. 

I made this mix for my lover, and 20 years later, both she and the music still light me up.

DJ Micro.D - Club Bad - The Serious Moonlight

This is Techno. Tech-House. Trance. That sort of thing. The real thing, as it were... If you do what I do. 

This mix was hand crafted with 2 Denon CD turntables and a crusty, but dedicated old Vestax mixer. It is beat matching, it is riding the pitch, selecting the right track, smooth fader action, and a veteran's ear for eeking every bit of goodness out of that tired mixer.

By today's standards this is a low-tech mix, which is the way I like it, because it puts the DJ in the zone, right there in each moment, and makes the DJ accountable for bringing solid programming and detailed mixes to the ears of the listener and to the bodyline of  dancer. 

Special thanks to the artists who've put their hearts and souls into making fantastic music for the world to dance to. And thanks also to The DJ Lord Fantastic and to DJ Steelgrooves for offering tools and inspiration for me in my jungle lair just North of the Equator.

May you enjoy this mix as much as I enjoyed crafting it. And may your heart beat vibrantly with love and respect for this mysterious world, while your feet boogie and your body turns itself loose into that blissful mental space where the world disappears into the music.
