Based in València, the Spanish artist has continued to delight forward-thinking music connoisseurs with his daring brand of electronic futurism. An enthusiastic attitude towards experimentation, coupled with extraordinary creative vision has made Upercent one of the more unique artists to emerge in recent years. Continuing to explore and expand his sonic palate, the Valencia resident now returns with the much anticipated ‘Sentit Opost’.

Highly stylized across its five selections, it is the eclectic experimentation of ‘Agrair’ which sets the tone for the release. Backed by a buoyant cadence, a storyboard of stammered vocal edits and fluttery sax riffs delight against a backdrop of exotic drums and percussive fragments. Building with a subdued majesty, its smoky resonance makes you think but also feel, conjuring up otherworldly visions, perhaps from a time we’ve yet to experience. For Upercent, it’s a piece that holds special significance, not only for its arcane nature but for the time in which it was crafted.

Moving forward, Upercent’s avant-garde style raises the bar with the florid sounds of ‘Les Granotes’. Concise and stirring at under six minutes in length, its cerebral nature is enthralling, bound by themes that are both organic and electric. Although a pang of melancholia seeps out of each icy tone, there is a note of jubilance in Upercent’s discombobulated beats and militant design qualities. It’s this limitless exhalation that takes the Valencia resident back to his childhood, reflecting on a time where the roots of this creation ultimately lie.

Spectacular sonic acrobats unite on the project’s third selection ‘Atrapa’, an expression translated from its Valencian origins to ‘addicted to something you like’. Upercent’s rhythmic expression has always been one of his most identifiable and inimitable traits. Here he explores that narrative further with clever coactions between layers of machine-gun-like cadence, morphing vocals and lively percussive splashes. Its adventurous spirit is something Upercent relishes in, as he continues to survey his creative process.

Splitting moods between the exotic and dystopian is ‘Romancer’. A frenetic sci-fi delight, complete with the perfect balance of rhythmic crunch and diabolic distortion. Succinct in delivery and monolithic in design, it etches towards a darker monochrome, perfectly setting the stage for the collection’s closer and most experimental cut ‘Arquitecte’. A unique and entrancing sonic ecosystem accentuated by whimsical vocal fragments and ghostly electronics. A piece where Upercent stretches his creative scope further while remaining fluid within the confines of the release.

Often celebrated for his ability to blend, blur and cross-pollinate genres, Upercent has ventured further with the ‘Sentit Opost’ collection, into a time of true innovation, traversing a multitude of realms and dimensions, while excelling throughout.

One of the TAU family’s prodigious talents, Upercent, returns for a four-track expedition into the creative expanse of his brilliant mind. Uper- cent’s unique sound, blending organic with synthetic and unorthodox effects, has captivated dance floors around the world. Unsurprisingly, his ability to weave stirring melody and emotive storylines into his productions has led to releases with Innervisions, Kompakt and Watergate, as well as several outings with TAU. The EP opens with ‘Tranqui Tronco’, a nifty roller driven by dense percussion. A repeated vocal motif appears as the intro guides the listener into the first breakdown. Upercent’s use of unusual sounds and effects demonstrate his unmistakable sonic fingerprint, as the cut increases in vibrancy. Another breakdown raises the temperature even higher and the track rolls out with the same contagious, driving rhythm.	
		
‘Nuquelar’ follows, with a deep tribal rhythm oscillating at its core. As we dive head first into this cut, hefty drums and a range of urgent chimes and instrumental licks add depth. Warped vocals are also looped into the fold, creating a cacophony of odd sounds as Upercent carefully builds the tension with a huge breakdown. The energetic release brings us back down to Earth with the persistent rumble of booming drums taking the track to its conclusion.	
				
The penultimate cut is ‘Tempesta’, another dark and dense composition. Upercent’s talent for keeping it simple yet engaging, and just that little bit different, is evident here from the very start. This cut’s dramatic narrative keeps you locked in, as the percussion especially plays out a capti- vating story. A moment of peaceful reflection is injected at the midpoint, before we’re immersed in sonic theatrics once more. Moody drums and solemn bass giving this one its gloomy atmosphere.					
Finally, ‘Ruta’ closes the EP with its insistent energy. In typical Upercent style, this cut develops in a considered manner with layers of sound building steadily, cultivating a sinister atmosphere. The voice of a maniacal character enters the fray halfway through, accentuating the unset- tling vibes. An ominous tone pervades throughout, leaving the listener fully immersed in the dark side as the EP comes to an end...

After closing out 2023 with the beautiful CONSTELLATIONS EP by JKJK, we thought it only makes sense carry on in 2024 with a reimagined version of it. Regarding the personnel doing the actual reimagining we assembled a stellar cast of producers from different realms of the galaxy we call „club music“, and we couldn’t be more happy with what they all came up with.

Our man in Budapest Sobek takes „Constellations“ to the big room, and hell yeah, it’s feeling quite comfortable there, creating a certified banger, hands in the air guaranteed.

For Kiosk ID no. 034, Israel’s Yost Koen and Turkey’s Enes Çakır merge their percussive and melodic sensibilities, concocting a refreshing blend of vaulting chord chops and soulful vocals framed in an infectious substructure of nuanced, tech-infused drum work. ‘Stop Me’ delivers a suave two-tracker filled with bursts of incredible joie de vivre, including remixes by Dodi Palese & Musumeci and Ivory.

Dubby in sound makeup, techy in structure, and powerfully soulful in its vocal passages, ‘Stop Me’ is an expertly forged genre-bender, cycling through spaced-out synth chops and patterns that deftly merge groove and melodics.

‘Burn For You’ unfolds a powerfully danceable and introspective journey. Merging dubby, spaced-out chords with a deep and techy beat, Yost and Enes progressively unfold crashing waves of piano chords, transforming the track's mesmeric atmosphere into a soulfully
uplifting warehouse soiree.

Dodi Palese and Musumeci strip ‘Stop Me’ down to its soulful, pulsing core. Carving a vast frequency band for a warmly pitch-bending synth mantra that becomes the track’s energetic core, the Italian duo transforms the original into an artfully pruned character track that feels equal parts new age and old school.

Ivory’s ‘Burn For You’ Re-Fire Edit coaxes up the floaty original’s minute smidges of techy darkness, amplifying them into an eerie, throbbing roller that cumulates in oscillating waves of wailing sirens and a darkly shuddering beat.

Yost Koen and Enes Çakır are masters at finding the elusive balance between groove and melodics. Their sound effortlessly merges percussive structure with emotive depth, weaving complex patterns that deliver energy and emotion in tandem. ‘Stop Me’ is the apogee of this craft: a beautifully melodic tapestry that, on the dancefloor, delivers compelling physicality.

Los Suruba and their record label Nazca Records present their eighteenth release called ‘Alpha’ EP produced by Roberto Carlos, better known as Thimble. NAZCA Records was born after internalising the connection between the advanced world of the Viracochas, beings from other planets and the archaic world of the Nazcas, lovers of music, dance and art in general.

This new EP consists of three songs. The first one, 'War Pipes' combines a futuristic and mechanical beat with a cool vocal that sound like out of this world.
'Aletella' climaxes in powerful groove caressed by a synth melody and an arpeggio that make each silhouette stand out on the dance floor. Finally,
