Based in València, the Spanish artist has continued to delight forward-thinking music connoisseurs with his daring brand of electronic futurism. An enthusiastic attitude towards experimentation, coupled with extraordinary creative vision has made Upercent one of the more unique artists to emerge in recent years. Continuing to explore and expand his sonic palate, the Valencia resident now returns with the much anticipated ‘Sentit Opost’.

Highly stylized across its five selections, it is the eclectic experimentation of ‘Agrair’ which sets the tone for the release. Backed by a buoyant cadence, a storyboard of stammered vocal edits and fluttery sax riffs delight against a backdrop of exotic drums and percussive fragments. Building with a subdued majesty, its smoky resonance makes you think but also feel, conjuring up otherworldly visions, perhaps from a time we’ve yet to experience. For Upercent, it’s a piece that holds special significance, not only for its arcane nature but for the time in which it was crafted.

Moving forward, Upercent’s avant-garde style raises the bar with the florid sounds of ‘Les Granotes’. Concise and stirring at under six minutes in length, its cerebral nature is enthralling, bound by themes that are both organic and electric. Although a pang of melancholia seeps out of each icy tone, there is a note of jubilance in Upercent’s discombobulated beats and militant design qualities. It’s this limitless exhalation that takes the Valencia resident back to his childhood, reflecting on a time where the roots of this creation ultimately lie.

Spectacular sonic acrobats unite on the project’s third selection ‘Atrapa’, an expression translated from its Valencian origins to ‘addicted to something you like’. Upercent’s rhythmic expression has always been one of his most identifiable and inimitable traits. Here he explores that narrative further with clever coactions between layers of machine-gun-like cadence, morphing vocals and lively percussive splashes. Its adventurous spirit is something Upercent relishes in, as he continues to survey his creative process.

Splitting moods between the exotic and dystopian is ‘Romancer’. A frenetic sci-fi delight, complete with the perfect balance of rhythmic crunch and diabolic distortion. Succinct in delivery and monolithic in design, it etches towards a darker monochrome, perfectly setting the stage for the collection’s closer and most experimental cut ‘Arquitecte’. A unique and entrancing sonic ecosystem accentuated by whimsical vocal fragments and ghostly electronics. A piece where Upercent stretches his creative scope further while remaining fluid within the confines of the release.

Often celebrated for his ability to blend, blur and cross-pollinate genres, Upercent has ventured further with the ‘Sentit Opost’ collection, into a time of true innovation, traversing a multitude of realms and dimensions, while excelling throughout.

After closing out 2023 with the beautiful CONSTELLATIONS EP by JKJK, we thought it only makes sense carry on in 2024 with a reimagined version of it. Regarding the personnel doing the actual reimagining we assembled a stellar cast of producers from different realms of the galaxy we call „club music“, and we couldn’t be more happy with what they all came up with.

Our man in Budapest Sobek takes „Constellations“ to the big room, and hell yeah, it’s feeling quite comfortable there, creating a certified banger, hands in the air guaranteed.

The 25th release on microCastle sees John Graham returning to the label under his much loved Quivver alias for his first single and a follow up to his Monaque 'Dos3000' remix from July of 2010. He is best known as Quivver, but has invented a host of other monikers, including Space Manoeuvres, Stoneproof, Skanna and Tilt, each representing a different shade of his eclectic production sound and each giving an idea of his true versatility.  John first came to our attention all the way back in 1994 when we heard his 'Twist & Shout' for the first time, a vibrant and electric style of energetic house that was fresh and undeniably cool that still sounds great now 20 years later. 

Over the last several years John has further established himself as one electronic music's most versatile producers. With releases on Bedrock, YoshiToshi and Toolroom. As a vocalist John has collaborated and written electrifying songs for the likes of Hybrid, Planet Funk and also Darren Emerson’s exciting new project ‘The Low Highs’. As a DJ, John has traveled the world and performed every conceivable hot spot from Glastonbury,UK to Pacha, Buenos Aires to Asia to his enviable residency at the notable Twilo, NYC to Avalon, L.A. Quivver's first single for microCastle is entitled "Here's This' and it comes with remixes from Marc Marzenit and Alexander Kowalski. 

John's original mix is most certainly one of his most infectious grooves to date;  unmistakably Quivver with a momentous roll and gargantuan swing that should have your entire dance floor moving in unison.  Complete with an eerie vocal stab, dark grungy chords and airy, incandescent pads 'Here's This' is one of John's most accomplished progressive techno crossover tracks to date. 

Spanish producer Marc Marzenit returns to microCastle for his second appearance and provides the first remix on the package. Marc's first appearance on microCastle was his remix of Monaque's 'ID' which turned out to be one of his most sought after productions in 2011 and his 'Here's This' interpretation looks set for a similar fortune in 2012. Marc's delivered a contemporary monster of a mix with waves of clattering drums and pulsating bass tones which form one of the Spanish producer's most devastating grooves to date. Metallic coated keys,  big menacing sweeps and gyrating vocal swirls create an undeniably hypnotic environment that is utterly intoxicating. 

The final interpretation on the package is provided by the Berlin based techno DJ / Producer / Live Act Alexander Kowalski. His DJ sets and live performances have been making waves throughout the electronic music underground for their tough techno sensibilities, deep harmonies. Alexander has been awarded the titles of best producer, best live act and has been a two-time nominee for the German dance award.  His Damage Music imprint has been one of our favourite labels over the last two years as well so we are thrilled have him on this project. Alexander's 'Here's This' interpretation might be his darkest and most menacing studio creation to date.  Rolling beats, dark electronics,  vocal gates and a grinding momentous groove all combine for an unrivalled apocalyptic vibe that is not for the faint of heart!

Another year has come and gone, and we have decided instead of doing a special anniversary release or landmark 100th release extravaganza,  we thought it fitting to deliver to you a Special release for the end of the year. A year where we saw the departure of many of our friends to pursue further their careers and opportunities by venturing into new paths, as well as  the arrival of some freshest new talent with new attitudes and innovation in production that just outright blew our minds. 

This year also saw the growth in it of itself of this brand which for three hard working year sought to set a mark in the progressive scene, adding the likes of Oscar Vazquez at the helm, his input help fine-tune and further shape the label into what it has become and where it plans on going.

Because of all these relevant and changes we still are strong on remembering where we came from, who brought us here and keeping this in mind we decided to further reminisce while embracing the present and future at the very same time.

That all being said under the direction of Grumpy (LQD) & Oscar Vazquez we compiled some of the past productions of the Liquid Grooves early years, both known and less known and decided to have them refreshed and updated by having them remixed by the artist whom have been solidly contributing to the shaping opt this brand and some who you will be getting familiar with in the coming months, but as previously stated we cannot forget the ones who have forged the brand into what it currently is and so some of these names have taken time from their busy schedules to also part take in this very special compilation

RMXD Vol.1 we hope it to be the start of an annual tradition where we can all reminisce on what we hope are some of the memorable productions from some very special and innately talented Progressive House / Progressive Tech producers
