Code Fish is one of the most complex compositions I've worked on to date, thanks to the amazing talent of Kristopher Bolin, lead singer and guitarist of the incredible band The Bawl Slant.

The initial proposal was to create tracks in the darkwave style, but the result is an experimental work that relies heavily on polyphonic vocals and blends electronic music with progressive rock.

At the time we started the collab, I was taking my first steps in experimenting with voices within daw -- fascinated by AI-based voice synthesizers and especially excited by the technique of creating multiple layers of voices from a single voice.

The starting point for Code Fish was one of these experiments -- a snippet of Kristopher's voice in Die With Me (The Bawl Slant song) was converted into polyphonic vocals. Kris liked the idea and created his vocals in the same style, re-recording his own voice multiple times. His polyphonic vocals have a much more complex structure than I could ever create. 

The great guitar solo was created by the ever-talented Christopher Hardisty, member of the band StillVivid and frequent collaborator. His guitar solos are always a highlight wherever they appear.
