Soulful, virtuosic, yet down-to-earth vocals and dynamic, captivating live performances are what define Jo Stones as an artist.  A formally trained classical singer, he broke out as a songwriter with his 2011 debut album ‘Travels’, a highly personal album accompanied by piano in which he processes the heartbreak of his childhood through his undeniable love for music.  His talent was immediately recognized when he won the 1st Philly Songbird: The Search for Philadelphia’s Next Great Singer, precipitating the release of his first single on iTunes, ‘The Letter’ (2013).

Stones embarked on his first national tour in the summer of 2016, playing 13 cities from Philly to San Fran (ultimately relocating from his hometown in Burlington, NJ to Long Beach, CA).  2017’s ‘Trails’ (available at JoStonesMusic.bandcamp.com), his most socially conscientious album (‘All the Lives’ and ‘Changing Tides’) reflects on his journey across America and his search for love, life and a better world.  Accompanied by guitar instead of piano, ‘Trails’ features a mellow, stripped-down, folk acoustic guitar feel with soulful grooves like ‘Wild Child’ and ‘Campfire Song’.

In 2019, Jo Stones is out to carve himself a unique niche within the world of music, allowing his songs to be organic and spontaneous reflections of the ever-changing quality of life itself.  He is currently working on his next project ‘Spark’, an album in three parts, and is enjoying experimenting with new instrumentation.  Stones is thrilled to have been invited to perform for the upcoming 5th Annual Vivid Resonance Festival in the Mojave Desert (March 8-10).  An eclectic festival focusing on sustainability, natural health, acoustics, sound healing, yoga and more, it will feature live entertainment and vendors under the desert sky and is sure to be quite an experience.  If he could tell everyone one thing, it would be to live their life to its very fullest potential.
