Like the Wheel {Tallest Man on Earth} - Wolf Larsen

We are three middle aged men from Cheltenham, UK who enjoy writing, performing and recording original music. The band consists of Loz Apperly on Vocals, Acoustic Guitar and Words, David Gray on Fretless Bass and Whale Noises and Phil Hall on Drums, Cajon & Claves.


Band Members:
All of us have been/are playing in cover/party bands and were itching to play something original so Loz, Dave & Phil all got together last year to see what they could come up with. After ploughing through a load of old cassettes of old bands and idea's Middle Aged Angst came together.


Loz Apperly has written songs since he could hold a plectrum and played in many groups over the years including Company Jones, Bema, Seratona, New Cotton Covers and The Lighter Thieves

David Gray has played Bass Guitar for a plethora of bands spanning a wide spectrum of genres all the way from Funk to Metal - they include Bema, Seratona, Funk Bomb, Spank The Monkey and Blue & The Rude Tubes.

Phil Hall has played Drums & Percussion in an equally varied field of groups which include Company Jones, New Dandy Sugar, Funk Bomb, Lyrical Lottery & Five Dollar Shake


Our Influences.
Like a lot of bands today we have a pretty eclectic bag of musical tastes that probably influence our own music. Bands/Musicians like The Red Hot Chili Peppers, Rage Against The Machine & Sound Garden have had a definate influence, certainly in terms of the 'angst' in much of our music but also people like Radiohead, Muse & Nirvana have had an impact on how rock bands can take things off in different directions now too. In terms of songwriting, it would be easy to say that everyone from Mozart to Eminem have probably played a part in shaping the way most people in Western Society write songs today, but if we were forced by a crazed Muso-journalist at gunpoint to shortlist anyone it would have to be Dylan, Lennon and Bowie.
