I am super excited to present the next @deepmindmusic_ mix, a special edition crafted by Australia's @pjenne. A DJ with an intuitive ear, Pjenné's mixes have always made a deep impression on me, through her thoughtful track selection, immersive world-building and clear narrative arcs – and her mix for Deep Mind Music is no different 🤍

I experienced this mix as one fluid motion: through the course of an hour we billow outwards, and drift inwards, in pulsating undulations. As the rolling waves of circular rhythms, dub techno and fluttering wisps floated through me, I felt as if I had become one with a towering cumulonimbus, expanding and contracting as I drifted across a pristine sky ☁️🦋💠

Pjenné has managed to strike a subtle balance between quiet softness and infinite depth in this beautiful and evocative journey, taking us deep into the beyond. The mix ends with an ascension to a bright and delicate twinkling, like a sparkling sunset on the sea, and we're left feeling warm, pensive and peaceful 🔆🌥️🕊️

Some words from Pjenné about the mix: 

I was inspired by a sound I used to be particularly into during my formative years – I remember buying the Deepchord Silent World double LP at Spacehall in Berlin during my first overseas trip. It was long, long before I was a DJ, and I was too scared to play any records in-store, as I didn't really know how turntables worked, and had no idea how record stores functioned. Although I bagged that winner of a record (which I still own and play today a decade later) I also remember accidentally buying some sampling records that I had absolutely no use for... Can't say it was the most inviting place back then...

Anyway, although the mix was inspired by that sound, it ended up completely different during the process of putting it together. Of course, I had to weave in some form of uplifting resolve by the end.

A 4-hour drift through layered atmospheres and leftfield experimentation, this extended opening set by Pianeti Sintetici marked the beginning of DE RIO’s 6th anniversary celebration, a 14-hour open-air gathering held in a hidden location among the hills of Florence. Known for his deeply textured sonic explorations and immersive works, Pianeti Sintetici invited early listeners into a slow-burning journey. Moving from fragile drones and spatial electronics to abstract rhythms and weightless transitions, the set established a space of introspection, friction, and quiet intensity.

"Venus appears to me in a dream. The sky is cloudless and I drift into a pine forest, mesmerised by the sound of her flute. I find myself entangled in a dance of indecipherable mumblings that, like the woods' inhabitants, change shape when night falls.
I glimpse a luminous mist in the distance, guiding me towards a veiled cedar cabin. I step inside, abandoning myself alongside the other participants. The melody of the flute begins to distort into a fossilised howl, melting into my eardrums and merging with the echoes of a forest that grows ever more distant.
And in the midst of these rustling whispers, I find myself reduced to dust. The flaming light of the cabin will show me the way out: in the fire of darkness, I choose a new life. "

Spanish-born but now based in Milan, Ultramarín (@ultramarin-blau) explores sound as a vessel of shifting consciousness. Embracing deep listening as a core element in her practice, her aim is to expand the boundaries of perception, going below the surface of what is heard. Distinguished by an eclectic approach, her sets span from experimental ambient to downtempo, to hypnotic and avant-garde techno.

Live vinyl/digital mix recording of an intimate musicnerd gathering from last summer somewhere in Avila. Reached that improvisational free flow state I love and does not always happen, so sharing the recording that the crew shared to us (legends!!)

Been working going deep into this impro approach now with both analog/digital for the last year and a half, a lot of organisation required but love not knowing exactly where I'm heading, even if the result is not as clinical. Its a mess getting the tracklist sorted out with records, if you curious about any track comment here, happy to share!

Big ups JR crew for the invitation, did not really know where I was going and I must say it felt really special place to express freely; listened to such unique sets in there. Thank you!!

the dust has only just settled on summer 2025, with cosy season being invited in with a warm embrace and we’re already looking back fondly at the memories made and the dancefloors shared across the past three months. one of those moments is the idyllic kune festival who we will be teaming up with for the next few weeks to share sets and stories from their fifth edition. for the first time ever, they’ve filmed some of these moments to be shared with you all, taking a deeper glimpse into the scenes, sounds and style of this stunning weekend. 

kune is nestled within one of europe’s most unique festival locations, ungdomsøen, a former sea fortress turned cultural playground that is just 30 minutes by boat from copenhagen. historic bunkers become listening rooms, old stone courtyards turn into dancefloors and the sea-facing hills offer a moment of respite from the stimulating surroundings. creating an isolated utopia that fully allows their guests to escape from the hustle and bustle of their normal lives, kune has quietly grown over the last five years, drawing a crowd of open-minded individuals that nurtures and pushes arts and culture forward. this is created through their diverse musical programming that caters to the curious with this year’s lineup featuring loek frey, woody92, peachlyfe, hewan aman, hannah d, sunju hargun, martinou, sybil, shjva, reptant and more alongside a packed arts and activities programme. 

so welcome to the world of kune festival. 

for the first edition of this takeover we have berlin-via-denmark dj and promoter tania just, one of the co-founders of the esteemed party series, fandango. moving to berlin in 2014, tania was introduced to the playful sensibilities and spirited mindset of the city’s nightlife scene. finding her crew who showed her the ropes and all that the city had to offer, tania cut her teeth in the local scene by attending the legendary cocktail d’amore parties at the shuttered griessmuehle, learning everything she needs to know about this new world she was being introduced to. drawing from these influences, tania is known for sleazy basslines, dreamy vocals, and cheeky twists that blur the lines between ‘90s house, early tech house, and progressive cuts.

since moving to berlin, she has gone on to run the gorgeous fandango parties alongside dave murrin and mark gill, which has quickly become a cornerstone in the local scene. i ended up at one of their parties spontaneously a few summers ago, arriving early in the morning to catch ccl warming things up for the day ahead and it was one of my fondest memories of that season, dancing throughout the day and exploring all the cute little nooks their unique location has to offer (kindred spirits with kune perhaps?) 

speaking about kune, this year, tania played the serene beach stage and touching on her relationship with the festival, she says, “i love kune! i first went 4 years ago, and it really opened my eyes to a more open-minded and diverse side of denmark that i had never experienced before. i met a lot of people there who today are close friends of mine, so it meant a lot to be invited to play this year.”

Description
Midgar welcomes the Bordeaux based Von Grall delivering four dense, immersive cuts. First of the list, *A Secant Line*, is an acidic and powerful mantra, opening the gates of sonic virtuality. In the second track, *The Slope*, fast paced rhythmics and cold ambiances bring some severity to the record. On the bside, the melodic and slightly dreamy excursion *Apply the Definition*, while *Limit Value* close the record with a solemn concoction of offbeats drums and mechanic nightbirds.

We're very happy to finally share with you our first release of 2016 as we bring our second Italian artist onto EarToGround. 

'Ness' also known as Andrea Deplano first caught our attention with his seminal track 'Neuronic' with came out late 2014 on Pole Group. Soon after work started on a full Ep for EarToGround. 

Tracks included have been specially made for the release and each individually display his excellent dynamic range, sound design and unique take on Techno. 

It has has been tried and tested in the best situations possible with excellent crowd response throughout. You will find a place in a set for all the tracks inside.

Dreiklang Records set sail in February 2016 with the excellent First Contact EP which featured OCH, Hydergine and Kelovolt, three singular artists each handing in their own contrasting take on the same source material. The Berlin-based vinyl-only label now returns with the same concept for the Loop Continue EP. For their second release Dreiklang call upon three strong figures of the techno scene, each displaying a highly distinct voice in keeping with the triangular concept of the label: Scottish veteran Edit Select and Italian purveyors of everything dark and deep, Dino Sabatini and Claudio PRC.

The three tracker kicks off with the deep sub-aquatic sounds of Tony Scott aka Edit Select, who produces the original version of Loop Continue, an introspective DJ tool. The Scottish producer goes straight to the point from the very start with a dusky loop that is slowly overcome by a glistening, luxuriant drone.

Claudio PRC hands in a stunning rework. A hypnotizing bass drives the track forward while tranquil chords ease in and out of focus.

Finally, Dino Sabatini, a regular collaborator of Edit Select, drops in fresh from the release of his Omonimo LP. The Outis Music boss closes the EP on a dreamy piece of broken-beat where beautiful glowing drones command attention.

Loop Continue is set for vinyl-only release June 14th on Dreiklang. The records will come as a 180g vinyl with handmade covers by Nils Atland, limited to 500 pieces.

DSC is enjoying its most productive year to date, and its not even half way through. Cliche Morph is a mysterious new entity, debuting with Liquid Materia. The title track melts streams of melody, chords dissolve in currents as a steady thump tries to tame the sonorous swash. Claudio PRC, of Prologue fame, interprets the tides of the original. Aquatic ambience floods speaker as sounds are kept below the waves in a dream state. “Impulse Inside Mechanism” pulls you further into the haunted machinery of Cliche Morph. Wraithlike harmonies ache, ghosting between steady percussion for a work of palpable emotion. That tactile quality comes to the fore with “Alternative Solution.” Rhythms are given extra girth, bass lines given extra room as strings swim before they soar.
