Solidarity in Times of Corona means: #leavenoonebehind
We’re experiencing an unparalleled humanitarian, sanitary and political catastrophe. In face of the global Corona-Pandemic we need to act solidly united more than ever and support those who are particularly affected. Those are the elderly, poor, homeless, immunocompromised people and moreover the refugees and displaced people at the European borders.
For how long can a person bear the inhumane conditions at the EU-borders? The circumstances in the camps on the Greek islands have been worsening for years. People seeking protection on the Greek islands and at the borders are exposed to heavy violence and systematic discrimination. Greece and the EU have in fact abolished basic human rights and the right for asylum in the past weeks. Refugees are being fired at, the conditions in camps like Moria are purposely kept inhumanely because the EU aims to deter those seeking shelter. Lawlessness is dominating where solidarity and humanity are needed the most. The situation in the overcrowded camps is disastrous and it lacks everything from medical aid to basic sanitary needs. The people are defencelessly exposed to the pandemic as they are trapped and isolated on the islands. Protective measures which are being carried out on the European mainland are simply impossible to be employed in the camps. (See more: https://seebruecke.org/leave-no-one-behind/)

In Moria, water is becoming rare and is distributed in dangerously low rations – immediate support is required now. Based on the statement by the NGO Seebrücke our collective has decided to publish a Soli-compilation as quick as possible. The compilation will be divided into 3 EPs which will be released on Wednesday, Friday and Sunday of this week. A variety of artists – 17 in total – from many different genres of electronic music will be on the release, contributing to the project. We are aware that this is only a drop in the bucket in times like these. However, any form of solidarity is needed at the moment . You can get the EPs at Bandcamp and all the money made from this will directly be donated to the NGO “Mission Lifeline“. (https://mission-lifeline.de)

It is undeniable that we are living in uncertain times. For those of us failing to fit the patriarchal neoliberalist mould, we have lost hope in the future. We can see capitalism is not working but we cannot yet envisage an alternative. In a world where security is no longer feasible, the only constant we can rely on is change. Regardless of one’s point of reference, we can understand that every aspect of life, physical and mental is in flux and perhaps this transience is the only thing we can depend on.

This month we have invited @forestmanagement to ruminate on these ideas and create an hour of relief from these anxieties. A temporary suspension of reality, where the listener can speculate on alternate modes of existence that reject hetero-patriarchal systems of oppression.

John has the following to say about the mix: "it's definitely reflective of a recent headspace and includes some new works from myself and friends and a hodge-podge of eras/genres that have been influential lately. It's also inspired by what my friend Michael and i would call "lake Michigan gaze"

Dj since 1989, which has allowed him to have a very extensive and enriching musical bacground, and enjoy and work with different styles from the earliest electronic of the 70s, to the sounds wave, synth, Industrial and Ebm of the 80s, and the techno, trance and electro of the 90s.
From 95, bet more on the electro newschool which resurges in Detroit and Central Europe (Drexciya, Aux 88, Ectomorh, Anthony Rother, Carl Finlow, IF, ...)
From then on, he created the collective Robotique with dj Fake, to develop sets exclusively of electro in Madrid's underground scene, which then only fed on techno and house.
By Robotique the little Madrid scene happened by then (Electrosher aka Alek Stark, Groof aka R. Calvin, Dr.Smoke ...).
Later, together with dj Awco, he created the authentic Electroclub 8Z8, making room for an entire cast of electro, counting on national and international lives of greats such as Ideograma, Alek Stark, Dark Vektor, Luke Eargoggle, Syllicon Scally, Manasyt, Cosmic Force , Minimal Rome crew, Kobol Electronic, Teslasonic .., Microthol and many more.
Currently, in addition to continue betting on the genuine electro, performs and produces events such as Moebium where he gives free rein to the most dance sound plagued by electro, Ebm and techno. In addition to his other Orbita project, flooded with cosmic, experimental and industrial electronics.
Waje is a dj who has always looked for something more, nonconformist with trends and fashions.
He is considered a teacher, both for his technique in the mixes, risky and improvised 100%, as his musical background, his sets are chair, always learned.
