[PIRANHA SIBERIA DUB] proudly presents the 85th release — Rick Fox – Part of the Story LP.

Rivers of time flow through concrete and glass, reflecting a sky that still remembers the hum of old synths and the first breath of analog noise. In Zurich, sound and architecture live in the same rhythm. Rick Fox (@dj_rick_fox) returns to [PIRANHA SIBERIA DUB] with his second release — calm, precise, and deliberate. Part of the Story is a new collection from the Swiss maestro, composed in those rare moments when the city falls silent and only the movement of its spirit can be heard — where every loop of echo seems to know its own name.

Let’s start with the originals.
::: Part of the Story sounds like an inner monologue whispered through delay. A straight line, steady pulse, clean structure — everything is in its place. A story no one remembers, yet everyone feels.
::: Izpi brings light — a narrow beam in an evening window. There’s motion upward, but without haste, toward the space where sound stops being material.
::: Funny Cats — a short smile within space, a warm note that breaks symmetry. It brings unexpected softness — a moment of irony in a world of exact rhythms and dense textures.
::: Black Snow feels like a night recorded in motion — cold that keeps its warmth inside. A metaphor of darkness where snowflakes fall upward and the night glows from within.
::: Homecoming — a return to the point where breathing begins again. Not about a house, but about the silence that accepts you back. It closes the first part of the album — a memory that doesn’t fade, only grows quieter.

::: A special remix by two Scottish fold-eared cats, Metatron and Kotya CatRMX from Oldschool_Dubtechno .Producer (@enercube & @x_fr), turns Funny Cats into a pulsating organism where sound gains breath and form.
::: Nicolas Barnes (@nicolas_barnes) opens Izpi from the other side — his version is transparent and meditative, like architecture built from light.
::: Armin Bender (@arminbender) makes Homecoming intimate and precise — a slow movement through memory where every echo is familiar.
::: Noosa Sound System (@user-975386903-297870339) takes Homecoming far away — their Far From Home Dub dissolves on the horizon, in gentle defocus.
::: Giacomo Pellegrino (@giacomopellegrino) closes the cycle — his remix of Izpi rises like dawn after a long night.

Part of the Story LP is the mature work of an artist fully confident in his sound. No rush, no excess — only balance, space, and the memory of rhythms from which it all began. If Rick Fox’s first release on [PIRANHA SIBERIA DUB] was an introduction, this album is already a dialogue — calm, precise, and honest. Rick Fox speaks through detail. There is no drama in his sound — only equilibrium. Each loop and texture is built with attention to form, breath, and space. Part of the Story is music without tension. Midgar is very happy to deliver a new release by Wata Igarashi!!! Anticipated since few weeks already, with the two bonus digital tracks ´Mantle´ and ´Displacement´ (both available for free download), Ciphers EP is a rich assemblage of deep sonic excursions showing throughout a strong coexistence of organic and virtual elements. The record opens with ´Ciphers´, where a fast paced sandy groove is driving high on drones via sparking ambiances. Second track, ´Hailstones´ is basically a beat knocking its way outside, under a heavy hi-hat hail, slashed by snares and haunted by holographic spirits. On the B-side ´Lucifero´ carries a mellow but powerful mood, sounds like a morning star that gradually transforms into a supernova, is definitely the more dancefloor oriented cut of the release. Closing the vinyl, the slow-footed ´Cocytus´ is the complete opposite of its previous track, because of a cold, grave rhythm, treated like a windswept tree. Finally, the only digital tracks, ´Mantle´ and ´Displacement´ are perfectly resuming Wata Igarashi sound signature, as trippy gatherings of crafted beats joining drones and deformed soundscapes, the first is mind stressing and epic at certain stages, while the second vibrates so dreamy as it´s made of percussions and supernatural blows.

Precise, cyclical, cold and above all, atemporal. The sound of one of the most advanced projects of the ‘90s comes back into the spotlight almost 20 years later. “Iesope Drift” and “Ostia” are two of the monikers of producers D. Blaze and Ronald L., best known as the duo “Obscurum” from the golden era of techno.

This mini-compilation joins four of their best productions released under the label “Seico Corp”, a cult record imprint for incited listeners and lovers of the deep and raw side of electronic music. Including milestone tracks “Arlette” and “Idioms”, it aims to be a tribute to the original series, and of course, to the producers that shaped it.

The Berlin-based label Ownlife debuts this new series called “Seld”, perpetuating the legacy of some of techno’s pioneers, and bringing the attention back to music that keeps the pure character and commitment it was created with.
