@cycle_2, a dynamic duo forged by the creative forces of @budinoo and @torvvoo, presents "Expander". In this track, Cycle_2 becomes the alchemist, seamlessly blending mechanics, mathematics, and magnetism. The result is a cerebral reconditioning embedded in the code of organic repetitions and rhythmic modulations.

Cycle_2 - Expander [Proxima]

After making several notable appearances on our Crysta Ampullaris compilation series, Ayuji finally unveils his debut EP 'New Borders' on La Forge. As skilled on the keyboard as behind the decks, he has been shaping spiritual, energetic and hypnotic electronic music as part of the collective since 2019. The four tracks, crafted over the past two years between France and the Indian Ocean, are greatly influenced by travel, its philosophy, its initiatory nature and its ability to transcend us by confronting us with otherness.

Deploying a sonic palette oscillating between techno, trance and progressive house, Ayuji plays with contrasts and finds the perfect balance between groove and melody. He manages to coexist the vast expanses of his travels with the sweaty intimacy of the club, making ‘New Borders’ an EP calibrated as much for listening as for the dancefloor.

The result is four euphoric, introspective, and psychedelic tracks, from the enchanting melodies of 'The Way Of The Shaman' to the psychedelic textures of 'First Contact' and 'Planet Inferno' to the resolution of 'Dina Morgabin', a sweet reverie over an irresistible ternary rhythm.

Midheaven Records launches in 2021 with 'Force Majeure', the debut EP of Sydney/Eora-based amuwa (@a-m-u-w-a), aka 25-year-old Joshua Deering. Born and raised in the urban sprawl of Sydney CBD, Deering now brings 10 years of musical development to a head, where design and feel seamlessly enmesh. The EP draws from formative experiences immersed in the sounds of city noise, industrial zones, natural amphitheatres, and packed dance-floors. Familiar strains of electro, trance and bass music shift and meld into new, hybrid forms, driven by a synthetic-organic logic. Roiling subs and propulsive drums are engineered for impact, couched within mutating synth arrays. Untraceable oddities click, whirr and hum around the stereo field—subtle changes reward repeat, deep listening. Over four tracks, amuwa re-centres the whole body as listening technology—pursuing a trance-state that is grounded in the dance, not just for the head(s). This is a formidable debut.
