DJ Black Francis (Drop Acid not Bombs)

Black Francis' musical interest started in the '80's. His attention was first drawn towards hardrock and NWBHM (New Wave of British Heavy Metal) of which he gathered a serious record-collection.
But from the moment that New Beat conquered Belgium and the first house and techno records became available, he was caught by the virus of dance music. 

He played his first records in Bugatti's and Zanzibar in Kortrijk in 1988. Lots of locations, all over Europe, have followed since then. Black Francis plays both techno, house, Drum'n'Bass, Acid, Breakbeat and Ambient.
His style is described as non-commercial, with good technique and always emotive. 

Parties he has played at include Retro Acid, Kozzmozz, I Love Money, Mobilotopia, Demo Crazy, Cheops, Fuse, On The Block(D), Base'O' (Ned), Vooruit, .. At these venues he has shared the decks with artists such as :
Autechre, Acid Junkies, Mike Dredd, Mo & Benoeli, Spacid, Trish & Kash, Ed Rush, 187, Grazzhoppa, TLP, Kenny Larkin, Stephanie, Rob Acid, Piere, Dj Zodiak, T-Quest, Robert Leiner, Neil Landstrumm, The Advent, Dread Zone,

How more old skool can you go ? Black Francis is a dj. who played on the first 3 Kozzmozz parties ever ! He is a techno and acid pioneer of the first hour. 


Dive into the world of Mogus, a dynamic DJ and curator based in Antwerp, Belgium. His journey through music has been a tapestry of rich experiences, shaping him into an intuitive and inventive artist.
Mogus' sound is a mesmerizing fusion of convention and experimentation, painting vivid soundscapes across various genres, all with a touch of moody edge. Deeply influenced by the raw energy and rhythmic complexity of Detroit techno, he weaves its pioneering spirit into his sets, celebrating its legacy while exploring new frontiers of electronic music.

Now, as part of the Berlin-based explorative label Futurepast, Mogus draws on his years of experience as a promoter and DJ, contributing his distinctive musical perspective and curatorial expertise to the label’s innovative and boundary-pushing vision.

Everything started in 1992 when the newbeat was disappearing with the rise of  the Rave / Techno.
I (Re: nald) and my brother (Teck) explored Belgian clubs, where the music was more house / trance. We started buying Vinyl and  bought everything we liked. Until we discovered our first underground parties (Code 303, Funky Green Aliens, ...) in Ghent. Where the music was more about Techno and Acid,we got hold of the 'acid' microbes and started mixing all acid infuences we could fine.
In 1996, when we were mixing and experimenting with friends, in the kitchen. One of us (K'stuff) came up with the idea to call gathering 'Christmass Kitchen Lab' , the adventure has begun!
Organizing  squat - and outdoor parties, halls, boats ... basically everything we could find ..;booking belgium artists.

In 2001 me and Krewlio started 'How To Fold' events (where we promoted Acid aswell as Nu Skool Breakz Artists)... we had Chris Liberator, Alex Hexxen, Rebel Yelle,Cyber ​​Steve, The Pranksterz (Acid Ted - Steve Kyte), Dynamic Intervention, Jodi & Andrew Bell (Sidewalk Theory), Bor (Zodiac Commune - NL), Kermit (FR), Pharmacy & Dj Beatle (Havok Records), Mr Burns (Skankedelic Sounds),Matt Acidic (RaveYard - AcidLeaks),Brooksie(AcidLeaks - We Speak Techno),

We had the change to play for Retro Acid (Ghent - BE), Berlin (Squatparty for Zodiac Commune - NL), Millenium Party (Mexico – Cancun/Tulum), Free Parties (Montpellier - Fr),Boomtown : The Gathering 2022.

2012 I met Mad Monkey and RedLab ,knew them from squat parties in Ghent(Belgium) and their ragga/reggea soundsystem  called 'The Bass Tune Crew').
Sinds then we hooked up together and they joined  CKL .

2015 was a new page for me to develop my other music, 2 friends (Hecticcc and Mèche) invited me to their radio show 'BREAXITY'. An concept of  Hecticcc with the intention of promoting music based on BREAKS (Electro-Jungle-DnB-Breakcore-Bass-UK Hardcore-Grime-Beats -... and occasionally Acid :] ). He showed me the technical tricks how to run a radioshow and learn alot about it. Unfortunately Hecticcc left us ... RIP Bro'.So...he gave  Mèche and me the change to continue the show ( 2019 Black Francis and Goony joined us).
