DiCE_NZ is based from Aukland New Zealand and has been making some waves on the scene with some superb edit efforts on labels such as Too Slow To Disco and Slightly Transformed. This first outing on Fingerman’s Hot Digits Music imprint sees the producer flexing his production muscles with 3 varied nu-disco tracks jam packed full of funk and a whole lot of soul. Opener “Believe Me” harks back to some sultry Groove Armada poolside vibes featuring some wonderful vocal action from Brittany Kate before we move into some bubbling acid flecks on the funk filled mid tempo stomper “Don’t Ya Know”. The third track from DiCE_NZ brings things down for some gorgeous slo-mo funk of title cut “The Situation” which wouldn’t be out of place in a 90’s soulful hip-hop set due to its laidback vibe and breezy vocal touches. Remix action comes from Hot Gorilla Records Andy Buchan who ramps up the Sax with his great version of “Believe Me”, dubbing out the vocals and giving it some great floor appeal. Finally Fingerman grabs “Don’t Ya Know” by the horns and fills it with sharp percussion and punchy beats with his rework.

For the first official release of 2015 Wonder Stories is excited to present AIMES' Harmonique Cosmique EP. Designed as a somewhat concept EP, it showcases one track made for four different types of dance floors. 

The 'Disco Version' is a feel good nu disco romper with hints of italo and classic disco, meant for an early in the night fun and funky dance floor. 

As the night grows longer, the 'Late Night Version' cranks things up a notch, channeling 80s 'out run' vibes with dark and sinister sentiment, while the 'AM Version' is an adventurous peak time techno cut. 

To round out the EP we have the 'Beach Version', perfect for the laid back sunset (or sunrise) set, meant to be played while sipping a drink with an umbrella in it.

Capping what has been another vintage year, nu-disco star Tim Bernhardt, aka Satin Jackets, sees out 2018 in style with 'Lost In Japan', a cover of Canadian star Shawn Mendes' recent mega-hit. Featuring frequent collaborator Niya Wells ('Primordial', 'Never Enough') on vocals, the pair have transformed the pop smash into a smooth slice of late night disco.

"We'd just finished recording our last single together 'Primordial' and were knocking around some new ideas," Tim explains. "We'd talked about doing a cover so Niya played me the new Shawn Mendes single and as soon as I heard her sing it I was sold. It's always interesting to try and put your own spin on someone else's song, especially one that's been as popular as 'Lost In Japan', but I think together we've managed to give it a fresh take." 

Whether producing modern Balearic house anthems such as 'You Make Me Feel Good', seductively soulful tracks like 'Through The Night' or genuine poolside classics like 'For Days', Tim has established himself as one of the biggest names in the modern disco scene clocking up more than 35 million streams of the debut Satin Jackets album, 'Panorama Pacifico', on Spotify alone.
