Digital Disembodiment 

We live in a world that is paradoxically connected yet disconnected. Our engagement with the world in digital spheres is ubiquitous, yet you’re lying alone in bed. Our fingers tend to glide more over screens than skin and the relation with our body seems to be weakened and distorted. This mix tries to engender the feelings that I have looking up from a screen after hours of scrolling, studying the news or chatting with people. Wandering through an ocean of information and impressions this mix is made to float you through a digital flux, questioning the agency of the body in a digital environment.

Fashion Flesh is the solo output moniker of John Talaga, based in Bay city, Michigan - USA.
Undoubtedly the perfect artist for the inaugural release of Adult Version, the Alley Version's experimental side label.

He's renowned for his unique sound that combined experimental rough energy with surreal dysfunctional pop factors.
Distinctive approach to electronic analog equipment played a crucial role in shaping his signature sound.
Most of the instruments used are self-built and customized.

Asexual Bondage is a 7 tracks cassette and digital album, which opens with the preformed and reformed
samba-stic jubilee kicks in the jams of self-reassurance and esteem to the moon-child through 'Bold Astral Temperance'.
'Self-Discipline' reaches through the art of example without being preachy, pushy or puckered.
'Don’t Blow Up' suggests you do not, through the soft distractions of a rain shower on moods varied.
'Mimicry' lets you be yourself, to not live a mocking bird of prey nor a vulture of ideas.
'The Voice of God' is the voice of an atheistic John the Baptist with his attempt to bond the blind faith believers
of the universe. To experience a united non-linear yet heart felt existential state of ecstasy with the random
godhead gobblers this reality over.
'Brass Heels' steps on your hands and turns you on.
'Asexual Bondage' bravely champions the flowering chains of love between those that do not only fuck.

The cassette is a very limited edition, not to be missed considering its delicious artwork made by John Talaga himself and Francis Thayer.

PREMIERE : Fashion Flesh - Don't Blow Up

Acid House emerged in the mid-1980s in Chicago, defined by its use of the Roland TB-303 synthesiser to create squelching basslines. It gained popularity in the UK’s rave scene, heavily influencing electronic dance music. Iconic themes like "Acid Tracks" by Phuture solidified its legacy, blending psychedelia with House rhythms.

Seasoned Swedish producer Högt I Tak (SXDNS179) is not simply an Acid aficionado. He masters it! He now returns with a B.A.N.G.E.R.S.-only release on his own When Disco Goes Wrong label: The three-track "Crooked Smiley" EP showcases his mastery in blending Acid, House, and Techno elements effortlessly, conjuring an auditory experience that bridges the gap between the roots of the genre and its futuristic evolution.

Premiered here, the title track stands out with its undeniable nod to old-school Acid House. A pulsating bassline drives the track, intertwined with shimmering pads that add an ethereal layer. As the track progresses, it builds to a peak-time crescendo, making it an essential dance-floor weapon. Högt I Tak’s knack for crafting intricate, yet infectious grooves is on full display here, ensuring that "Crooked Smiley" will resonate with both Acid new listeners and old-timers alike.

Opening with an eerie cascade of drone-like textures, it conjures visions of frozen horizons and spectral fjords. The track builds slowly, drawing you into its glacial grip before erupting with pulse-quickening techno that barrel like stormy currents. Nascent techno imprint @midgar_records next issuing sees them in retrospective mood with a carefully created remix package for Wata Igarashi's 'Ciphers' release. It pulls together Nuel, Yves De Mey, Oprhx and Shawn O'Sullivan for the vinyl edition, plus r2π - a collaborative project of Retina.it, Ruhig and PRG_M - and Ruff Cherry as additions to the digital version.

Manipulations of the mind play out in the two end-game scenarios of ‘Artificial Landscapes Part 1 and 2’, where lightness and tension interlace between man and machine.

Samuel Kerridge thoughtfully re-engineers ‘Orbature’ re-pacing the structure and contributing additional textures to the piece. His rework sculpts a haunting industrial feel to the track.
