Brooklyn-based DJ and producer Ayesha (@aye5ha) lines up a four-track EP with Scuffed Recordings, channelling percussive techno, breaks, and bass.

The Potential Energy EP bears all the hallmarks of the sonic universe that Ayesha has made her own on previous releases for the likes of Fever AM, Kindergarten Records, Control Freak, and Daytimers.

Aptly-named opener ‘Potential Energy’ is a rallying cry for the current moment in dance music, as clubs in parts of the world begin to open and ravers release the pent-up energy of the past eighteen months.

‘Ecstatic Descent’ is up next and lives up to its title with euphoric arpeggios sprinkled liberally over heavy, syncopated breaks.

Third track ‘We Be Bubblin’ encapsulates Ayesha’s approach to sound design and sample selection, with playful bubbling sounds and vocodered vocals dancing over driving percussion.

Ending the EP is ‘Dark Matter’, the fastest and heaviest track of the bunch, which saw its first outing during Yung Singh’s already-legendary Boiler Room set as part of the Daytimers takeover.

In her opinion, her imagination was her greatest asset. Not that others were a party to that. No matter how mundane the task at hand, her mind could take her to places that reality could never dream of; it opened up new worlds and opportunities, it let her escape to other dimensions. It was the one thing she felt totally in control of, she was the master of her own fate, something that often felt out of reach in the real world.

Vief Records are using the power of music to raise money and awareness for great causes. The label launched in August last year with a split EP from Useful Council and Citizen which they coincided with an appeal to help support NHS nurses in their fight for fair pay. For their second outing, a sprawling 17-track compilation, they're fighting for another important cause: All proceeds from the release will be donated to Refugee Action, a charity that aims to build safe, happy and meaningful lives for refugees in the UK.

Not only is their mission an incredible one, so are the sounds that make up the record. Featuring music from Sentient, FAFF, Izzy Locke, Silverback and more, it touches on all corners of the club spectrum from breakbeat, jungle and UK bass to acid, electro and techno.

Over the past couple years, Native Boundaries has established itself as a respected curator of parties that: push the boundaries of music and fun In the Los Angeles underground. For our first EP, we are honored to be working with a mix of local LA up and coming talent with some internationally respected artists as well. This release embodies the spirit of breaks pushing the limits of the genre with two originals from Etari diving into an elusive, yet methodical territory with beautifully processed vocal samples and tribal influences. Another LA local, User Delusion has created a more aggressive yet beautiful edit to “With You” accompanied with a soulful R&B vocal. Stones Taro has also remixed “With You” with his signature breaky garage sound as his own rendition also including a more agro bass-line and yet soothing vibe. Finally Berlin Legend Iron Curtis has remixed “Midnight Mood” with a very emotionally moving melodic feeling along with an acidic texture and minimal beat.

Meet Vern, a talented DJ from Constanta, Romania, whose passion for electronic music was sparked by the hypnotic sound of live techno and trance sets. Although he had little connection to electronic music growing up, he quickly became fascinated by the energy and audiences at events like Kudos and Kristal Mamaia; events which helped turn him towards a path in electronic music. 

After experimenting with different genres, he settled on techno and tech-house, and began producing music that caught the attention of labels and audiences alike. This is a tale of trivial things happening to common people in ordinary circumstances, but to exceptional results, both for the music and the somewhat bizarre narrative it conveys. After all, everyone involved has a penchant for surrealism: Tessuto with his manifold militant personas and Mutado Pintado and his storytelling comic character. 
MFK is the type of Gesamtkunstwerk that allows for this poliphony, one that  encapsulates all the atmosphere in a salacious musical base and allows for rich reinterpretations, either it is us deciphering its lyrical content or a stalwart such as Virginia rewiring its rhythmic potence.

PREMIERE : Tessuto Ft. Mutado Pintado - MFK (Virginia Remix)

The inaugural release of air miles is introduced by Jeigo with his "An Ode To Midnight" EP which was written and produced in the Spring of 2018, between the cities of London and Paris.

The tone is set from the off with the eponymously named first track of the release 'An Ode To Midnight'. The tracks mellow break beat feel is met by warm rushing pads, ebbing and flowing between textures of the night before last.
