This is a cover of Blue Valentines by Tom Waits off the album of the same name. It was performed by Midnight Magpie during the second Birds of Paradise night at Hare & Hounds Kings Heath, Birmingham. Birds of Paradise is a night put on and run by Midnight Magpie showcasing up and coming musical talent. We tried to do something new and interesting with the song. This is the last Midnight Magpie song ever written. Unfortunately the band dissolved before we got a chance to record it properly, so this was the rough draft of the song we recorded in a bedroom on a dictaphone. Thought I would post it up because it's actually my favourite of our songs

They fuse this with electronic sounds, melancholic vocals, and guitar that ranges from acoustic finger-picking to screaming electric solos, in an experimental mixture of styles. These elements blend to create a new deviant genre of music. And yet, no song is the same as the next.
