Today we’re delighted to give you the first listen of the second single off Tamu (aka Dave Dixon's) forthcoming 'Alba EP’.

Dixon’s alluring and somber vocals sit wonderfully on top of layered guitar, a steady kick and inter-weaving moog-like synths, reminding us of Toro y Moi whilst flecks of 8-bit sounds add that additional nostalgic touch.

Midnight Magpie is more than your usual set up. Unprotected sax, smooth clarinet, and jazz piano float dexterously over their grooving bass lines and unexpected rhythms. They fuse this with electronic sounds, melancholic vocals, and guitar that ranges from acoustic finger-picking to screaming electric solos, in an experimental mixture of styles. These elements blend to create a new deviant genre of music. And yet, no song is the same as the next.
