LUNACY PICKS: Midsummer Dreams 2025 - by Freudenthal & Cyranotaurus Cortex

Bizzarro Universe put their own spin on Justice’s iconic *D.A.N.C.E.* with a powerful hybrid edit. The track keeps the magic of the original alive with an epic vocal break, while layering in a punchy house bassline that’s twice interrupted by a gritty UK-style bass riff. Add a spiraling acid synth on top, and you’ve got a high-energy rework that moves dancefloors without losing its nostalgic charm.

Tayir keeps the momentum high with “Feel the Love”, the second single from their upcoming debut EP on Midnight Operators. Bursting with sunny piano riffs, soulful vocals, and an irresistible groove, it’s a feel-good anthem tailor-made for carefree summer days.

Laion touches down on Feinstoff with a sublime four-tracker that channels the sleek allure of Italo, the sun-drenched moods of early ’90s house, and a sprinkle of rave.

Opening with Hand Hand Paw, an irresistibly hooky bassline slides in early and takes hold, driving high-octane momentum with a glint of trance in its DNA, where rave energy fuses with crisp, Neo-Italo vibes. Built with the floor in mind, it pushes towards an acid-laced finale that seals the deal.

Doctr steps up for the remix, zeroing in on the original’s addictive bassline and letting it dominate the space. A commanding, stomping groove takes hold, stripped back to pure power, with precision layers and sharp dynamics showing Doctr in top form.

JYF shifts the mood into brighter territory, a dominating bassline carrying a French disco shimmer. Major and seventh notes add warmth and lift, while snare rolls build the tension toward a drop that slides in smooth and keeps the floor locked.

Closing with Spinelli Spielloni, the EP returns to darker terrain. An off-beat bass drives shadowy Neo-Italo vibes, stabbing chords slice through the mix, and harmonizing gated synths wrap the groove in a hypnotic grip.
