This track was written when I was on tour with my first ever band at 19. I walk outside of soundcheck and witnessed a couple arguing after the guy was told his girlfriend had been cheating on him with his best friend…. I wrote the song the next day. But 14 years later I recorded it and released it as my debut single.

“Too Drunk To Drive” was inspired by watching a close friend battle the quiet, complicated heartbreak of outgrowing a long-term relationship that began when they were far too young. The song captures the emotional tug-of-war between wanting to walk away and being guilted into staying — a cycle that leaves you feeling lost, unsteady, and unable to see the road ahead clearly.
Raw, honest, and deeply human, Too Drunk To Drive explores the moment you realise love shouldn’t feel like obligation, and leaving is the only way to finally move forward.
