Jared Gimbel aka Gumbi began his career 4 years ago through the Scratch Academy. Before the academy his musical experience began at the piano, and percussion in school. As time went on he began to study the craft of Dj-ing in his own time, and developed his homegrown hobby into a passion. As a part of the scratch program he took his passion to the next step and studied under Boi Jeanius and Toadstyle where he further developed his skills as a DJ.

 

His inspirations include a blend of the internationally infused Major Lazer, skilled turntablist Four Color Zack, and DJ/producer/modern legend Skrillex. His sets combine these inspirations and condense them into a specific idea. Each DJ set is built around a different version of this idea to fit the atmosphere for every occasion, and curtailed to match the taste of the public ear making his performances an inclusive event. Over the past years he has performed at 2015 Red bull freestyle, Real Estate Rumble Charity Event, Simone’s Bar, and at countless weddings. This variety of audiences has helped to increase his versatility as a DJ and a performer.
