Steven Wilson, four-time Grammy nominee, multi-instrumentalist, producer, and founder member of Porcupine Tree, returns in 2015 with his highly anticipated fourth solo album 'Hand. Cannot. Erase.'

The album is presented in an elaborately conceived and designed 96 page case-bound book with several additional inserts, including a diary, a sketchbook, newspaper cutting, a letter..etc…,featuring artwork by long term SW collaborators Lasse Hoile (photography), Hajo Mueller (illustrations) and Carl Glover (design). The first remix for 'Index' was done by Pat Mastelotto of King Crimson - Pat is the drummer on the original studio version and did a beautiful job, exactly what I wanted, but in his words…

"I saw a YouTube clip of one of your early shows and Marco was drumming up a storm and I thought damn that's what I wanted to do!  But as a session man on the original track it felt self indulgent for me to send you back a brilliant song with a 'drummer goes nuts' treatment when the song clearly stands on its own as chords and a great story it didn't need it.  But it was always in my head it could be Dave Grohl does Mike Giles over the bar line never stop drumming ... I had the multi tracks so said what the hell let the horses run and see what I can do….”

I'm a huge John Mayer fan and my favourite John Mayer song might well be this track. He displays some of the most beautiful guitar playing I've ever heard along with some really vulnerable and heartfelt vocals. I thought I'd try and pay homage to it.

J.J. Cale's lyrics as well are mesmerising. The song is a masterpiece.

I played every instrument and sang and programmed the drums in Garageband. I also did all the mixing and recording (hence the lo-fi, bedroom sound and poor mixing...)

Retrieved from the archives, the grandiosely named God was the collaboration between Steven Wilson and singer and multi-instrumentalist Ford, who wrote and recorded on and off in the late 80's and early 90's, taking their cue from a shared love of the new wave pop of artists such as Talking Heads, Japan and Magazine.  While Steven Wilson was soon on a path to having a long-term career with No-Man and Porcupine Tree, and Ford moved into the world of acting, God never got around to making a record or playing any shows at the time.  But now three gems from their small but perfectly formed oeuvre (two from 1993 and one from their very first recording session in 1987) have been rescued and remastered and will be released by ToneFloat on Panic Underneath the Arches 12inch EP on September 27, in a strictly limited edition of 333 numbered copies on marbled vinyl and 666 numbered copies on black vinyl.
