The last 6 months has seen this artist making waves across the world with his signature slow-burning downtempo electronica sounds infused with dub and world music all laced with his characteristic chugging basslines. With recent releases and remixes on Pipe & Pocket, Shango Records and Hidden Vibes, we are proud to present one original plus two remixes from Jamie Stevens.

The original takes us on almost space-rock rollercoaster ride through organic chants and a deep, surging bassline. Following on from his debut ‘Weigh Up’ EP on Beat & Path, Jamie steps up the plate and delivers two outstanding remixes, the first being the ‘In Excess’ remix that touches on his early roots from the 3 piece live electronic group Infusion. Mechanical, almost machine-like style percussion is laid over a bass groove, all laced with an infectious 1980s INXS-style snare hit. On the second version, Jamie takes the listener on drummer’s dream ride with carefully programmed drums, shakers, tambourines and hats. Kindisch welcome El Mundo & Zazou for the latest edition of ‘Kindish Stories’ with a fresh series of remixes that show off their broad skills.

El Mundo & Zazou made a big impression with their excellent ‘Can You See What I See’ track as part of the Words Don’t Come Easy compilation on Get Physical last year. Following a re-release of the single with new remixes, they now come on strong on Kindisch with new and fantastic original versions of tracks by Art of Life, Feathered Sun, Lunar Disco and many more.

The pair kick off with their own ambient sci fi opener ‘Intro’ then serve up an epic slow motion deep house adventure with their loose and organic remix of ‘He Is Behind Your Eyes.’ The gorgeously deep and soulful grooves stay through the languid ‘Get On’ remix and their standout take on ‘Revenge Of The Wankers’ is a chugging, hypnotic affair with a mesmerising lead synth line.

The second half of the terrific musical trip features more spine-tingling deep house with tropical jungle overtones, sparse and absorbing late night grooves like their remix of ‘Effigy’ and uplifting, synth-lead classiness on a closing remix of ‘Alexithymia’ amongst other things.

Wie der Aphorismen interpretiert wertschätzt man die Heimat umso mehr, wenn man den Fehler gemacht hat in der ferne selbstständig sich ein neuen Lebensabschnitt aufzubauen indem man sich aber nicht im Herzen Zuhause gefühlt hat. Meiner Meinung nach ist es egal wohin du gehst, dein Herz wird immer dort bleiben, wo es glücklich war. 
D.h. als ich vor 3 ½ Jahren umgezogen war, habe ich peu à peu feststellen können wie ich Woche für Woche und Monat für Monat immer mehr Heimweh bekommen und zudem insbesondere meine Eltern und Verwanden vermisst habe. Ich konnte mich noch nicht mal richtig in dieser fremden Stadt entfalten und aufgehen. Ich war zwar immer Arbeiten, aber fühlte mich in diesem Raum quasi isoliert und Herzensleer sowie ohne Freude und Wille was zu erreichen. 
Ganz besonders vermisste ich die schöne Idylle im Wetteraukreis, wo ich in der Landschaft genau jeden Pfad kenne und wo überall die schönen Kindheitserinnerungen verknüpft sind. 
Mein Charakteristikum, Selbstbewusstsein und Seelenzustand wurde mit der Zeit immer schlimmer und das ganze erreichte nach 2 Jahren seinen Höhepunkt, bis ich eine Pro- & Kontraliste für meine Eltern schrieb, ob ich selbstständig in Oma’s Haus leben darf. Die Liste hat 15 Seiten Pro Argumente und wurde von meinen Eltern verstanden und akzeptiert.
Dann war vor kurzem der Umzug zurück in meine geliebte Heimat und fühle mich inzwischen nach dieser Entscheidung wesentlich lockerer und bin wieder sehr glücklich im Herzen meiner Heimat zu sein. 
Vorher war mir das alles nicht bewusst, wie wertvoll die Heimat ist. Dazu gehören auch die Freundschaften, Eltern, Verwandten und Geschwistern sowie die Landschaft und darin verbundenen Kindheitserinnerungen, welche ich ständig sehr vermisst hatte. Das Wort „geliebte“ Heimat und „geliebte“ Eltern und „geliebte“ Verwandtschaft habe ich vorher nie gesagt oder geschrieben, erst als ich längere Zeit in dieser ferne gewohnt habe ist mir das bewusst geworden wie sehr ich meine Heimat und Mitmenschen dort liebe!

An artist, DJ and producer, a professional in the nightlife and leisure of San Farncisco.
Utterly self-taught, Proper Brother started his music career by winning his first Technics MK2 turntable at a DJ Scratch & Beat Juggling competition in early 2000s, at the time where he couldn’t afford any pro gear! He then co-founded a French Hip-Hop / Electro music production label and ran it for a decade. In 2019, after a long break, he’s now back with a new style and a proper name, digging deep in House & Techno music with trippy melodic scratches and proper original productions…
His music and mixes are an exquisite and careful selection, a mixture of calm rhythms, suggestive vocals, ethnic rhythms ... it's simply delicious.

What an honor and humbling experience to be one of the first to blast sound at Burning Man this year and especially at DISTRIKT, right after the end of a tiring build week!
I cooked some “proper” tracks (212 Remix, Jem Be Edit, Queen Remix) tailored to the event, and got a chance to field test them earlier this year at various gigs. This time I even tried a new blend of some trippy/melodic scratches as seasonings, let me know what you think ;-)
