Mumbai Science proudly presents “Déjà Vu”, the first single of their same-titled debut album. “Déjà Vu” takes you on a trip to a grim future, where partying is reduced to handing out business cards and personal trainers are the new superstars. Guest vocalist April Rose delivers a casual, slightly blasé recording, bringing a fictitious can’t-be-bothered woman to life, who roams in the world of the economic elite. Although dealing with heavy themes such as moral decline and corporate totalitarianism, Maarten Elen & Jonas Kiesekoms bring their message with their usual quirky panache. 

The Belgian duo, mostly known for their club hits ‘Ancova’, ‘Gold’ and ‘Lotus’, have been touring restlessly the past years, reaching some of the coolest and most respected venues and festivals in the world. From Fuse in Belgium to Space in Ibiza. From Loft in Barcelona to Womb in Tokyo. With their music widely supported by artists around the globe (from 2 many dj’s and Erol Alkan to Boys Noize, Tiga and beyond), the sounds of their beloved craft have reached across the world. Recently they conquered American hearts as well with shows at EDC in Las Vegas, U Street Music Hall in Washington DC and various HARD events. 

Déjà Vu, the album, features collaborations with some of the finest talents of our generation. DJ Spank-Spank from the legendary acid house formation Phuture delivers a mesmerizing vocal for “King Of The Top Floor”, while cult superstar Peaches does not – and never will - shy away from controversy on “Whistleblower”. Up-and-coming Belgian vocalist Gustaph (singer in the NY house collective Hercules and Love Affair) lends his golden voice on “The Call”, and Mixhell fires up their thunder drums on “Vegas”. 

The choice of guests on “Déjà Vu” wonderfully reflects the musical pilgrimage Mumbai Science undertook in the making of this album. Tapping deep into their musical heritage, Mumbai Science bring a piece of work that reflects their own, wayward view on contemporary dance music. Rough and dirty, but at the same time playful and quirky, without making any compromises on the artistic level. Instead Mumbai Science took the path less traveled and ended up at an uncharted place that somehow feels right at home 

Mumbai Science’s debut album “Déjà Vu” will be out June 16th on Lektroluv Records. From techno-with-an-attitude, over faux-pas electro-clash to straight-up Belgian rave. Expect a wonderful journey through the soundscapes of Mumbai Science.

'Wolves’ will be the 1st single from Digitalism that puts the band in a very different place to anything previously released. The last communication from Digitalism marked the beginning of this new direction in the form of a Soundcloud-Only release at the start of 2014. This statement of intent will not relent; 2014 will be The Year of surprises for Digitalism fans, with ‘Wolves’ being the first official release to subscribe to it.

For many fans ‘Wolves’ might seem long over-due, having premiered as the opening track of their Boiler Room DJ set during !Melt Festival, 2013. Since then the band kept an eye on their Socials and the comments, watching the fan-bases’ curiosity naturally grow. The 2nd time ‘Wolves’ was unleashed was once more a opening track for their much-lauded ‘I Love Techno’ DJ Set in December 2013. This time it caused a flurry of fan-driven YouTube videos, since which, each time the band post a new DJ set or link to previous ones, fans ask over again for the release of ‘Wolves.’

Well we are finally prepared to let it go. Why? Again we come to the new direction the band have entered, their music at the heart of it. The first months of 2014 were spent writing in LA and producing new music, road testing demos and ideas at their Twice Monthly East-LA Warehouse parties. The reaction to these shows was incredible, with each of the 4 dates selling-out way in advance, but still queues around the bloc on the nights. In fact the reaction on one date was catastrophic, receiving a Police enforced shut-down with a small army and not one, but two helicopters. Sorry Tax Payers! Since these dates the excitement has been infectious and the results have finally convinced Digitalism that they have a raft of releases to get-out between now and the start of 2015. So let’s go…

Lask has always had a passion for music. After playing instruments and writing music for 5 years, she started producing at the age of 18. After spending years in the studio with very little social interactions, she started to feel detached and felt there was a bridge needed between her production life and her social life. 

She started Djing at events in 2016 and quickly climbed up the Melbourne DJ circuit. In march 2017 she released her first Ep with Smash Bang records titled ‘Aurora’. In July 2017 she featured on Suckmusics 'In the clubs, Volume 9' with her eclectic, soft yet driving single 'Charlie'. 

In feb 2018 she featured on Recovery Collectives VA ALLIANCE with her electro-house inspired track 'D-EQ', In march 2018 she released her second Ep on LO-FI-45 titled ‘Instincts/Warriors’ which showcases her maturing sound, complimenting her growth as an artist and an individual.  In a short amount of time She has played for the likes of; Secret cinema, Dj Lion, Morten Granau, Upgrade, Tim Englehardt, Exrtawelt, Alex stein, Guy Mantzur, Hernan Cattaneo and more. 

In July 2018 Lask’s path took her to the heart of techno AKA Berlin. Where she now is living and plays as a resident for an all female collective called PRIZM at Klunkerkranich. In the summer of 2019 she returned to Australia to play play a the world renowned Rainbow Serpent Festival.

Deep Stories wurde mit der Vision gegründet, dass bei unseren Projekten Ton, Text und Bild eine sich ergänzende Einheit bilden sollen, die der Konsument mit allen Sinnen erfassen kann. Über Jahre hinweg haben wir diese Maxime verfolgt und dabei mit unterschiedlichen Musikern, Autoren und Fotografen zusammengearbeitet. Wir freuen uns, dass wir euch diese Woche wieder eine ganz besondere Symbiose aus Musik und Lyrik präsentieren können. Unser Gast Alex Doering hat sich mit dem Autoren Theo Werfel zusammengetan und eine literarische deep story der Extraklasse geschaffen.
Theo Werfel lebt und dichtet in Heidelberg, wo er mit der Literaturbewegung »Es lebe der König!« in den letzten Jahren daran beteiligt war, zahlreiche Veranstaltungen in Zusammenarbeit mit Künstlern aus den verschiedensten Hintergründen und Herkunftsländern zu organisieren. 2014 kam so auch das erste Heidelberger Literaturfestival »Im Namen der Republik.« zustande. Gemeinsam mit »Protective Circle« brachte »Es lebe der König!« Schriftsteller, Musiker und Maler aus ganz Europa zusammen, die auf die verschiedensten Arten Literatur auf der Bühne erlebbar machten. Im Zuge dieses Festivals lernten sich auch Alex Doering und Theo Werfel kennen und stellen nun, in guter Erinnerung an vergangene Kooperationen, ein neues Projekt vor, das die natürliche Rhythmik von Werfels dichterischer Produktion, mit von Alex Doering feinsinnig ausgewählten Stücken verbindet. Inder letzten Zeit macht Theo Werfel selbst vor allem Musik, zusammen mit Pallas Aktiv, mit dem er die Band »da.« gegründet hat und noch in diesem Jahr das Album »Was du willst« veröffentlichen wird.

They say everything happens for a reason.
They say you don’t get the burn you want but the burn you need.
Metamorphoses starts when you realize that both are true.

My burn started this year with the most amazing gift, I got to play a night till dawn set at Robot Heart. Watching the sun rise while playing the music that I love and putting a smile on so many beautiful souls was the climax of the already insane summer. This set really pumped me up and it got followed by a 3 days in row party with everything that includes. 

However on Wednesday late afternoon what needed to happen, happened. After finishing a set I took my e-bike, went full speed on the playa and BOOM! Huge fall, head first, shoulder second and then my whole body (PS: E-bike, excesses and lack of sleep are a very bad combination). Of course, I stood up directly and partied again, but the day after was one of the biggest hangovers I have ever had.  I had to go to the hospital, couldn’t move or do anything, I was coming down, tired, depressed, in doubt and didn’t know what to do with myself. I ended up spending 48 hours at my camp, sober, hanging out with friends, sleeping and eating which is something that I actually haven’t done for a very long time. 

On Saturday morning when I started feeling better, I decided to go to Robot Heart for a quick listen.  I met the Robot Heart family who told me to come hang out on the bus for the Man Burn.  I stayed really quiet during the whole day and was at their camp at 7pm sharp.  At that moment, Benjamin Alexander comes to me and asks if I had my USB key with me (I did, don’t ask me why, I didn’t have any gigs planned but I took it anyway). He then tells me that the DJ who was supposed to play didn’t make it (it’s burning man, it happens to everybody) and if I was interested in playing the Man Burn.  He then explains to me that man burn at Robot Heart is not about making people dance or drawing attention, it’s about creating a cinematic soundtrack for it.  I of course said yes, not having any clue about what I was gonna play or even what a cinematic soundtrack to the burn was. 

Next thing I know, I’m behind the decks on the love bus, far from the chaos, with a perfect view on the man, I’m playing some downtempo, ambiant, deep, and mostly super emotional music, and then BOOM! Fireworks, looking around me everybody is hugging smiling and living the life the way it should be… few tears are shed… I played the man burn on the Robot Heart bus.

There was something I needed to learn here - life gives me exactly what I need to grow + evolve.
Believe in the power of the playa, believe in yourself.
Everything happens for a reason.
You don’t get the burn you want but the burn you need.
Metamorphoses starts when you realize that what is said above is true.

Miguel Campbell - Re-Funked Volume.1

Miguel has been galvanised by the house music scene since the early 90's and has also been a DJ since that time. Miguel began producing his own music as one 'half' of the underground duo HCB.

In 2006 he founded his own label Outcross Records, which became a home for his music. Teaming up with fellow Leeds resident Matt Hughes to form MAM, a duo that has remixed the likes of the Imany, Deadmau5 and Flight Facilities, as well as putting out releases via Wolf+Lamb, Future Classic and Outcross itself.

​In 2010 he became the newest addition to the Hot Creations team and went on to pick up international recognition, capturing the imaginations of party people the world over.

Miguel's forward march continues as he refuses to relent, working on more music, including recent remixes for Basement Jaxx & RÜFÜS and continuing to travel to foreign shores, spreading his unique brand of funk around the world.
