Once in a while an artist will come along that carves out a sonic aesthetic so distinctive it takes just a few bars of a record to know it’s one of theirs. Miguel Migs is undoubtedly one of these artists, with the Californian producer’s catalogue of deeply soulful house exemplifying the very best of his silken, glossy sound. A natural fit for the Soulfuric Deep imprint, he now releases ‘Back Tonight’, featuring regular collaborator Martin Luther on vocal duties. Miguel’s downtempo original is accompanied by remixes from London duo Saison, who go for a clubbier vibe, and disco maestro Aeroplane, who lends his signature funk-flavoured grooves to the mix for a more retro feel.

"I started working on some new songs last year with the loose idea of an album in mind but nothing set in stone. I focused on the writing and how things felt, working with some new singers, which is always cool because I love the collaboration and writing process. At the start of this year I felt pretty good about the songs, they felt cohesive. But I still hadn’t thought much about how to release them. I literally just sent a couple of clips to Simon [Dunmore] and he dug the idea of releasing an album. I started to fine-tune the songs and now here we are with something due in October 2014". -mm...

Tutsi Girl Play House makes it’s debut with the stunning "Body & Soul” EP for Puro Music, featuring 4 tracks of exquisite, soulful deep house. The new group formed after meeting in Barcelona in 2015, whereby Mallorquin producer Sebas Ramis began his collaborations with Ruandan songstress Tesirée and German keyboardist Sebastian Motz, a musician trained in the school of afro-jazz on the island of Cuba. The eclectic backgrounds of the band members were quick to assimilate into a formidable and emotive house sound, packed with driving club beats and hypnotic melodies that set the pace for the soothing vocals of Tesirée, who herself hails from the Tutsi tribe. The band debuted their live act last month in Palma de Mallorca.

Another standout track from the recent Sunburst Band album is the boogiefied house cut ‘Definition of Luv’ featuring Diane Charlemagne. 

Rising star Sean McCabe once again comes through with a brilliant remix adding his trademark deep and soulful house sound using Diane’s vocals to great effect. His Main mix is one for the soulful house heads while his Definition of Dub goes a bit deeper and dubby.

As always Joey Negro turns in his own extended album mix and Dubstrumental stretching out the original making the most of the 80's style synth parts.
