This song is a title track of my 20th single PLAY LOUDER. The genres are Alternative rock / Lo-Fi / J-ROCK. The moods are Happy / Motivational / Upbeat. The style is Experimental. The category is Happy & Upbeat. I wrote and recorded this alone in my room with a guitar, a synth, a mic and a PC in 2017. Bass by synth. This song was created when I was performing live alone in Nagoya and I decided to release this now to recapture the hungry spirit I had then. Cover art and MV by myself. This features Japanese lyrics, reggae-inspired vocals, Lo-fi and experimental sound design. The composition, the arrangement and the production were heavily influenced by Beck especially ODELAY. Balkan Surprise is a jazz quintet founded by five prominent and charming musicians from Bulgaria and Greece, who share not only their love for jazz and their diverse experience in this music of free expression, but also do share profound respect and appreciation of the authentic and rich music of the Balkans - this colourful and vibrant part of Europe where all the band members are from. 
Balkan Surprise is a meeting between colleagues, neighbours, friends and its music reflects it. It is warm and honest, it is beautiful and vivid, it is calm and dynamic. 
Balkan Surprise creates and performs jazz - contemporary and modern, harmonious and rhythmic, yet sincere and without any pretense, music that with ease touches the senses. And while talking at the language of jazz, Balkan Surprise in a subtle way pays tribute to the wealth and the variety of the sounds of the Balkans.

It’s not about revenge, it’s about realization.
When love dies, hate doesn’t destroy — it repairs what’s left of a broken soul.

A fragile piano carries the memory of warmth, while Bohemian violins cry softly between the shadows.
Her voice drifts through the fog — neither angel nor ghost — whispering what’s left of connection.
This is not a song of anger. It’s the echo of what remains when everything else is gone.

🎻 Production Notes
Lead lines use Virharmonic’s Bohemian Violin for feather-light bowing, intimate vibrato, and fluid legato phrasing — creating a breathing, human tone that weaves between sorrow and strength.
Abbey Road One forms the cinematic backbone, while Native Instruments Piano Noire shapes the emotional pulse.

Female vocals were rendered in ACE Studio, as no suitable singer was available in time.
Melody, phrasing, dynamics, and emotional design were all composed by me.
🎧 I care about real, honest music — composition, arrangement, performance design, mixing & mastering are entirely handcrafted.
No AI, no Suno, no Udio, no Mubert — everything you hear was created by me.

I believe AI should never replace the artist — it can assist, inspire, or speed up a process, but it should never define the creative vision.
When you hand over the full creation to AI, you surrender your growth as an artist and become dependent on a machine that doesn’t feel, dream, or doubt.
Real art is born from imperfection — from human emotion, not automation.

This song began as a looper beat that Josh created in BandLab. He does that often to start an idea. However, this beat sat on the shelf for almost a year, until he shared it with JJ for one of his Saturday night music sessions. JJ put an arrangement on it with his organ and bass. Josh quickly replaced the bass idea with his own version of it, though.
Now it was Ken's turn to replace the dull looper beat with something alive and organic, which he did in the most creative and solid way possible. We had a skeleton now, and it was time to share it with Beck, with whom this is Eclectic Collecitive's first song. She added her magic via the synth you hear sprinkled throughout. Stephen weighed in next with his funky wah guitar.
It was almost done at this point, but of course, we wanted Carl to add his greatness to it, as well, which he did by writing and singing some compelling vocals. He took the working title, which Josh came up with having just read The Odyssey, and wrote a whole song about it!
Once it was all laid down, we asked Tez to do his expert work with the mix and production, which he did perfectly, as always. We're very lucky to have two very talented producers in the group, and grateful to Tez for ironing this one out for us.
This is, as mentioned, the EC's first go round with Beck, and we couldn't be more thrilled to work with her. Not only is she a skilled, creative musician, but she is a delightful ray of sunlight to work with, too. We have another collab with here we plan to release in the coming weeks, as well. There will be more to follow. We hope you enjoy listening to this as much as we enjoyed creating it.

Mihail Yossifov is one of the most successful young Bulgarian jazz trumpeters to have emerged in recent years.  His talent as a musician and as an exciting on-stage presence is now spreading well beyond his mother country’s borders.

Mihail creates music in his sextet accompanied by the some of the most excitingly talented Bulgarian jazz musicians and, together, set the modern jazz musical agenda in Bulgaria.
