Next in our mix series, Teng takes us on a journey to Tai Long Wan. Much like the hike itself, the mix starts with some sweaty uphill beats then arrives at a tranquil destination.

來自美國洛杉磯的製作人Liquid Earth，以Urulu名義遠渡香江在宀與我們一起慶祝踏入2019年新年。Urulu不忘香港，特地製作了一個mix set名為「Ferry to Lamma Island」，音樂型格亦豐層次，滿載著對香港的美好回憶。

本名Taylor Freels，於全球新冠肺炎之初開始以Liquid Earth之名為新製作人代號，現今已發行兩張EP，也在美英兩地的獨立廠牌Butter Side Up、 TerraFirm及 Lemak Records旗下推出其製作。
宀期待Taylor再次踏足香港。

Liquid Earth (LA) played at 宀 New Years of 2019, under the Alias Urulu. He lovingly shipped over a mix as a memory of his visit. “Ferry to Lamma Island” is an eclectic, undulating, sensation of layered sounds. Upbeat and mesmerising, with hints of Hong Kong.

Taylor Freels birthed Liquid Earth at the beginning of the pandemic and has already self-released two EP’s, released on Butter Side Up (Leeds), TerraFirm (Pittsburgh) and Lemak Records (LA).

Introducing our newly recruited resident artist, Yong Ying, a homegrown Hong Kong DJ that has developed refined taste and unmistakable technique in mixing over shockingly short amount of time. Intelligent, abstract, textural techno music are at display here.

YONG YING is a Hong Kong-based DJ who first got on the decks in 2020 and has since been driven by a relentless passion for digging and playing music. Her sets are known to combine dark experimental sounds, industrial techno, and a vibey dose of EBM. After a year of playing in a wide range of events and parties, she has built her sound and aesthetic while steadily making her mark in Hong Kong’s electronic music scene. She is now a regular at 宀 club and a resident of Entropy 熵.

For this month's Entropy radio, we are delighted to have the return of our a resident of Entropy, Yong Ying, a DJ who is originally from Hong Kong and has recently relocated to Berlin. Prior to moving to Berlin, she cultivated a significant presence within the Hong Kong underground music scene, frequently playing at the esteemed Mihn Club. Her dynamic sets are distinguished by their captivating energy, seamlessly crafting a dark sonic tapestry.

Yong Ying is a Berlin-based DJ originally from Hong Kong, known for her passion for creating captivating dance-floor journeys. With a unique blend of techno, industrial, broken beats, experimental sound, noise, and EBM, her sets tell a story filled with heart-pounding bass and pulsating rhythms, seamlessly crafting a dark sonic tapestry.

Her sound is an exploration of emotion and identity, reflecting her diverse background and the vibrant cultures that shape her artistry. She believes the dance floor is a sanctuary for shared exploration and profound connection. Besides having performed at prominent clubs like Tresor, Oxi, MO1, and Watergate, she is a resident DJ at Mihn Club in Hong Kong and a member of the music collective Entropy 熵.

This mix is a little tribute to her set at Tresor back in February. Since she was unable to capture the performance live, she has recreated the essence of that night in this set.

宀 is a music venue in the very heart of Hong Kong focused on bringing people together through carefully selected electronic music acts and cultural activities. The 100-capacity venue will bring a roster of leading international performers while nurturing local and regional talent.

宀 (pronounced "mihn" is the Chinese Radical 40 with a different pronunciation according countries. It has no literal meaning but can be likened to a roof or shelter. This is a place where you can express yourself freely. This place is for dancing. This is a place to learn. This is safe space where you will not be harassed, discriminated, criticised or harmed emotionally or physically. This is a place where all Races, Genders and Sexual identities are welcome. To safeguard this vision, there will be a no-photo policy applied inside the club.

宀 has been imagined by a group of music and audiophile enthusiasts who have chosen a Funktion One soundsystem in a room carefully engineered by one of the region's leading experts in acoustics.

「宀」是一個位於香港中心地帶的全新音樂場地，宗旨在於希望能夠透過精心挑選的電子音樂以及其他文化藝術活動，將人們聚集起來。這個能夠容納100人左右的場地，不只將帶來國際型的表演者，也將會成為亞太區、本地菁英的培育地。
