The Ishtar Gate, the second album from Peaky Beats, is a bold and electrifying fusion of UK bass pressure and the deep-rooted musical traditions of the Arab world and ancient Mesopotamia. Named after the iconic gateway of Babylon, this ten-track Arab-Bass opus channels a hypnotic blend of deep sub-bass, syncopated breaks, and gritty low-end with haunting maqam scales, intricate darbuka rhythms, and reimagined motifs from Iraq, Syria, and beyond. From the ominous opener Spirit of Evil to the skanking sway of Tigris Riddim, each track pulses with its own identity—melding UK sound system energy with Arabic modal mysticism. Standouts like Gilgamesh and Cats of Arabia evoke mythic landscapes, while Qita and Meyhane drift into smoky, late-night territory. At the core is the title track, The Ishtar Gate—a towering, Acid-soaked anthem that bridges ancient echoes with futuristic breaks. Both a dancefloor weapon and a cultural statement, this is a sonic excavation and reinvention.

This album is dedicated to Safia Al Hassoun, my love and inspiration.  

Meyhane

This EP represents the musical journey I have been on over the last few years. Starting with my electronic influences, I tried to explore the textures and musical themes that have inspired me most. Drawing on elements of dub techno, 60's rock, psychedelia and straight up reggae, this EP is an attempt to stick a pin in the map and allow me to move forwards unfettered by left over concepts and incomplete ideas.

Episode 24 in the digital series on Cue Line Records welcomes new artists to the Danish record label. Calling on the dubwise direction, Breez debuts with ‘Thinking His Majesty EP’ featuring a track-collaboration with label owner Gaze ill, and a restyled remix by the almighty Bukkha. The title track ‘Thinking His Majesty’ is an eyes-down 4x4 dubwise locomotive. Heavyweight low-end-frequencies, spiced with delicious offbeat guitars and spacey fx’s. One for the sound system experience! Breez gets on yet another collaboration with Gaze ill, and this time they bring us ‘Irie’. Layers of chords, powered by a solid spring-reverb-infected drum groove, and a tightly tuned sub bass, form the perfect moment of peace. Bukkha gives ‘Thinking His Majesty’ his well-known remix treatment to finish the EP. Bukkha reload the title track with uplifting energy.
