Long serving Cadenza recording artist, Mirko Loko, has always worn his Detroit musical influences on his sleeve, counting pioneer Carl Craig as his mentor, and having worked with the likes of Derrick May and Stacey Pullen in the studio.  And on Daybreak, Mirko fully indulges in the one genre that seems never to get tarnished, the mechanical and industrial beats working off the deep and soulful strings and melancholic pads, a true hallmark of the classic sounds of the Motor City.

Originally released on Outpost Recordings, the label run by Scottish techno don, Funk D’Void, the masterful Original Mix from Takuya Yamashita gets three new versions from Mirko.  Takuya, a techno artist from Kobe, Japan has already sparkled on labels like Biotech and Espai, and in his Original version we have a driving and energetic piece of classic techno.  Mirko remains ever faithful to the melody and sounds of the original, providing a full beats re-rub on the ‘Mūn version’, and an alternate ‘Taiyō version’ that’s more urgent, with its broken beat.  The digital only ‘Kanjō no’ version dispenses of a backbeat entirely, creating a remix that forever teases with it’s percussive elements, building up great anticipation throughout.

As Cadenza continues to celebrate its 10th year as a label, it takes delight in backing great music from its artists and associates, and this release is another curveball in the label’s eclectic catalogue.

This song was originally recorded in 2003 by the band Late Night Alumni (which I am a member) and released on Hed Kandi Records.  it never got much attention so I recorded a new version and put it on my album DYNASTY in hopes that it would get some more attention.  It is a beautiful song and Becky sounds amazing as usual.  Then my buddy ABEL RAMOS did this mix of it for his sets and I have used it too.  It is hard to go wrong with this song.

Only five releases away from the 100th, Rodriguez Jr. delivers on the 095 with a generous 4-track, digital only edition titled "Muppet Anthem".

The self-titled number makes up the first track on the EP with a pleasant array of upbeat house-party elements and groovy vocals making this piece of work totally dance-floor worthy in the heat of the summer.

Seething down to the second track, "Ocean Drive" takes it down a notch by starting the track with exotic and tropical elements as it progresses into a high peak of faster beats and steady keyboard strikes. Its a number that will leave your feet grounded as your swaying shoulders and bobbing head lead the dance.

"Satellite" comprises the third number an emotional hymn bursting with soulful vocals and periodic tambourine jingles and jangles. Enjoy this eye closer preferably with your head back and arms reaching towards the sky.

Closing out the set is "Palo Alto", a high tempo number with various calculated beats one setting off the next. Crying vocals wrapped in multi-faceted elements will leave even your goosebumps dancing.

The French producer/DJ has a stupendous track record with mobilee and its sister label, Leena. In 2011 he released his very first album titled "Bittersweet" on the mobilee imprint. The summer of 2012 has seen weekly gigs throughout Europes favorite beach bars and waterfront clubs with Rodriguez Jr.

Our favorite usual suspects are back, and kick off this EP with the surprisingly optimistic "Gung" which bases itself on a loose percussion groove.  As the bouncy bassline plods along, the boys sprinkle even more tribal stardust and get those asses shaking.The shadowy "Caterpillar" makes sure to switch the vibe ASAP with evolving pads and wall-of-sound effects viciously shaking the foundation. Evolving stabs run throughout the whole affair adding even more tension to the claustrophobic atmosphere.  The eerie vibe continues with "The Realm", where more of the extravagant effect manipulation is present.  Haunting pads and post-apocalytpic soundscapes remind us, once again, that the kings of darkness are in charge.

Some things in life are better enjoyed in pairs, just ask anyone who has attempted a solo game of tennis or a younger brother as to why they have a crusty sock stuffed down the side of the bed. Lucidflow embrace the power of two by welcoming in the pairing of Underset and PRT Stacho, with pedigree that spans labels such as Hope Recordings, King Street Sounds and Nite Grooves.

Express Clock is a track that draws inspiration from sunflecked deep house and aquatic progressive house, a warm groove that is easy to slip into and lose yourself to. It brings to mind memories of classic deep output from the golden years of tech house, unsullied by genre snobbery.

Stepping in to provide an alternate take and initially cutting a solo figure, Lucidflow co-owner Helmut Ebritsch edges the tempo up ever so slightly, the watery synths tweaked to provide a clockwork rhythm that lets the track simmer over scalpel sharp beats.

Providing the other piece of the Klartraum puzzle, fellow Lucidflow owner Nadja Lind joins Helmut at the controls. Once again with pairs being the theme, the duo create a ying and yang set of remixes. The Club Remix is dark and twisted, slapping you in the face with a huge, wet slap bass. Flipping the mood closer to the original, the Cinematic Remix keeps the breathy pads of the original, providing solace in long, deep balearic breakdowns – the perfect way to close off an emotive and widescreen package.
