Heavily chopped up and processed, I believe the original speakers were Rich Hilton, Dave Spiers, and Mark Tinley, who have been some my favorite online music technology personalities for many years.

Bob Lind's 45 came out about fifty years ago and was one of the records I would stack on the thick spindle of my record player before I went to sleep. Desi Desi and Desi played a punk version of the tune in 80's clubs like A7: very fast, very rough. Now I've brought it up to date with a new electronica version. I aimed for the beauty and polish of a 120 bpm ballad like "Liberation" (from my mentors The Pet Shop Boys) and failed completely. But I did make something else, a labor of love that came together with unusual ease. I hope you like it.

In reality, Beaudine was a talented and versatile creative artist who began his career with D.W. Griffith, directed such icons as Mary Pickford, Jean Harlow and W.C. Fields, and worked in the British film industry and for Walt Disney. In this episode, film historian James L. Neibaur, who is at work on a Beaudine biography, considers the filmmaker's legacy and prolific body of work.
