Time Runs Out

Some vocals should not be remixed others get worked over many times. This one has been re-worked many times and with good reason! It’s simply one of the very best uplifting messages sung by a premium artist ever! I started making this record during lock down I (like many others) wanted a new day and a new dawn. 

I wanted to combine elements of Trance with House Music which is why it is a hybrid record with a massive break down that strips itself down to a lovely piano riff with that incredible vocal and message. 

It should fit nicely into a 125 BPM and above set of music and ideally played just before sunrise. 
With global uncertainty still shadowing us, let me add my small contribution of hope and regeneration.

Demonstrating her exceptional talent as a singer and songwriter, OLAN will release three intimate acoustic versions of tracks from her album ‘Contra’ as part of ‘Contra: Acoustic’, out on November 25 via independent label Anjunadeep.

‘Contra: Acoustic’ features stripped back interpretations of singles ’Push’ and ‘Wake And Return’ and album track ’Submerge’. In contrast to the electronic flavour of the originals, each arrangement on ‘Contra: Acoustic’ is hauntingly sparse, with OLAN’s delicate harmonies filling the spaces between her guitar and Fender bass. In this context, the vulnerability of the lyrics is palpable, illustrating just how these songs were a form of escape and expression for OLAN, helping her find peace amidst the uncertainty of the pandemic:

“‘Contra’ is an album I wrote as a way to find some peace with my life having no definitive purpose at the time. I often try to attach meaning to everything I encounter. I force myself to re-live memories. I’ll try to unpack them and see how I could change my reality if I had just been a better person.”

Since release, the album has reached the top 10 of the NACC electronic charts, accrued over a million streams, and been supported by KCRW, KEXP, SiriusXM, DJ Mag, and Beatportal. Most recently, legendary indie electronic group Little Dragon’s released a remix of ‘Wake & Return’ which premiered on KCRW in July this year.

I’m a song-writer who enjoys creating music of any genre.

My son recently introduced me to A.I. and taught me how to do covers of my previously released non-A.I. music. Since I've never considered myself a performer (except playing with worship bands at church or solo-piano at a rehab center) using A.I. is right up my alley.

Since I've  exhausted using my previously released music for A.I. covers, I now compose music in a DAW, rip to a wave file, and make an A.I. cover of this wave file. I then write lyrics to the A.I. music. It takes around 100 A.I. iterations to complete the lyrics and get a style I'm happy with.  

Brief Bio: Lived more than a quarter of my life overseas (Egypt, Saudi Arabia, Turkiye, Italy, Japan, South Korea, and Taiwan). Each country gave me an appreciation for different types of music plus probably why I get bored easily in sticking with one genre or another.
