Michael Winnicki is an up and coming New Jersey based drummer and percussionist. He learned music early on, picking up the violin at age 6, and began playing drumset at age 8. Mike has studied drumset with Dave Anthony and Ron Glick and currently studies with jazz legend Victor Lewis. Michael also studied classical percussion with Greg Giannascoli and currently studies with Joe Tompkins. Michael is currently a 4th year student at Rutgers University as the first double major in both jazz and classical performance. Michael is involved in a variety of projects including the recently formed Alignment, an original quintet which released its first full length album in October 2013 (alignment.bandcamp.com). Michael also regularly plays with Komeda Project (www.komedaproject.com) having toured Poland in the summer of  2012. Through playing with Komeda Project  he has had the opportunity to perform along side many great jazz musician such as Jeremy Pelt,  Adam Baldych, John Bailey, Russ Johnson, Michael Bates, and Don Falzone among others.
