This past Saturday a 10 year old friend/classmate who sat next to my daughter in school unexpectedly passed away.  Although she had been to our home and had stayed overnite I was having some difficulty placing her face.  That was until my daughter reminded me that I had just had lunch with them at school just a week prior.  This revelation was obviously upsetting and sad.  Brittnie sat across the table from me debating which is a better instrument to play, the sax or the trombone (which she played).  She was so happy talking about her music and couldn't wait until she was big enough to reach the fourth position on her trombone.  She also had good taste as she claimed to have liked my music.  Well after my daughter reminded me that I had just spent a little time with this tiny little cutie, I attempted to practice which proved to be too difficult.  A little later as I was putting things away I came across this song and immediately thought of her and her smile and it made me smile.  So I recorded it as I practiced.  I didn't edit it as it turned out okay.  It is so sad when a child passes.  She would have been 11 today (April 28, 2010).
